Hi Sherri,

Do you still have an ongoing case of BV? When I was in the middle of

my long spell with vulvodynia (with negligible hormones and no

period) I wondered if the lack of proper hormones (or imbalance)

helped attribute to what could have been BV which was causing the

pain. See, no infections could ever really be found/cultured, but yet

the amoxicillin antibiotic always made the pain go away for me...

really weird huh?

get the results of my latest hormone test. I'm 52 so it's no

surprise that they are all low, even though I still get my period.

Hi:

I have had BV on and off for several years now. When I was younger (under 45) I think I had it once or twice. I always culture Gardnerella bacteria. But the doctor finds it in the office first and then the culture just validates what she sees.

They still haven't called me with my blood test results for the hormones that I had done a month ago. I have an appointment on the 13th so I'll just find out then.

It is odd that the antibiotic worked. I don't think amoxicillan is one of the antibiotics for BV. Pennicillian is the first choice for Group B Strep. Which I always culture for also. Have you ever been cultured for that?

I am allergic to amoxicillan and none of the other antibiotics that we tried for Group B Strep worked, so I probably still have it.
