Lollipop on Sheridan, off 75. Ask for Dorka (sp?). We have taken our son there for a few years now and always have her do it. She is great. Tell her beforehand about your son so she is aware.Sent from my iPhone

Hi all,

I just recently moved to Davie, Fl and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of places where I can take my 4 year old autisic son for hair cuts.

I am sure most are like me and a simple thing like getting a hair cut is a very challenging event. If anyone knows a place that is good and is senstive to these types of situtation i would greatly appreciate it if you would share :)

Thank You!

I take my son who has serious sensory issues to get his haircut at Haircut

Hangout in Hollywood. It's a drive, but it's worth it. My son is now 5 1/2 and

was 3 when we started going there. is the number and tell them he

is autistic and the owner Denni will cut his hair. She's got the patience of a

saint!

I would recommend Lollipops at the Muvico plaza on Sheridan.  They are very much accustomed to our kids who can watch dvd's and get a lollipop when it's all over!Good luck.

For those that have issues with haircuts: Help your child "prep" for the experience by giving them vibration to the head, mouth and face area. Also have them play blowing games with straws and paper balls or something light that can easily be moved by puffs of air. Front rolls and jumping in place also give added vestibular and proprioception. By the time you get to salon, your child should have a nice calm affect.
