Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to hear that Fred had to make a trip back to the ER, but most of all I'm sorry to hear he has acute pancreatitis!!! That's some of the worst pain I have ever felt; it will bring a grown man to his knees, I'm just sure of it. I will be praying that it gets resolved...pronto! Guest guest
, My chronic pancreatitis is BECAUSE I have PSC. My doc told me when I was diagnosed in '84, that I ran a higher risk of pancreatitis and problems with my gall bladder due to the sclerosing of the bile ducts; it can be intrahepatic, extrahepatic or both...I have both. It took out my gall bladder and my pancreas is on borrowed time. Doc says eventually it will shut down, but again that's has more to do with the amount of damage already suffered by the time they diagnosed me. (He said the inside of my pancreas looked like it had multiple rat bites taken out of it, because it had been digesting itself - his discription - for so long.) They were working on listing me for a pancreas tx in '97, and then things started to look up. Thank God! I'm kinda partial to the little the thing! Here's to better days ahead! Guest guest
Can you bottle that and send some down this way? Or at least send rain? We're in a severe drought (sp?) here in Atlanta...but I just looked outside, and it IS raining, say amenhallelujah! Wow, FedEx is good!!! I can't believe it arrived so soon!!! As far as positive attitude, you seem to have a pretty good supply of that yourself. Let's pray we neither one run out anytime soon! Guest guest
HOLY COW - your medical history would fill a nook of a medical library. And you continue to amaze me with your positive attitude. Can you bottle that and send some down this way? Or at least send rain? We're in a severe drought (sp?) here in Atlanta...but I just looked outside, and it IS raining, say amenhallelujah! You and everyone who's posting about your pancreatitis experiences have been AMAZINGLY and WONDERFULLY helpful. Love you lots, > > , > I had the same experience Todd did, well almost. Guest guest
Mel- Fred's the one needing the PMA! He needs mine AND yours! Yesterday he was about ready to schedule surgery to have his colon removed, AND he ordered the book " Early Exit. " I have told him that if he's ever thinking of starting a new career, Motivational Speaker ain't it!! (Pain, as you know, does make one think absolutely the worst thoughts possible.) Guest guest
I have told him that if he's everthinking of starting a new career, Motivational Speaker ain't it!! I just located this email in the midst of my 260! Sorry! Now onto Fred, you're so right about his career choice, and about what pain will do to a person! Fred's so lucky he has you to keep him from letting it kick his butt. Keep reminding him that he is not in this fight alone...although we are not all in the same place at the same time (thank God) we (the group) really are in this fight together. When one of us wins a battle, we all feel the excitement, and it's nice that you're there to remind him of that when he needs it most. I read my guest book this morning and saw that you thought I was in Cleveland. (?) I postponed my trip to CCF and will now be going 12/10-12/12. I had brushings done to satisfy ' annual cancer screening, at West County where my wonderful endoscopist resides (I'm sure it feels that way to him!). My return to CCF will consist of non-invasive things like an MRI, etc. Thank God!!! I'm tired of people playing peek-a-boo with my insides! Well, I'm off to attempt to eat some breakfast. My stomach is willing as long as my ducts aren't too weak! Talk to you soon. Love, See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
