regarding promising research for pancreatitis.

Novel Pancreatitis Therapeutic

<<Researchers from the School of Medicine at Flinders University and

the Flinders Medical Centre have discovered that administration of a

peptide antagonist a known G-protein coupled Receptor [GPCR] can

increase vascular perfusion and diminish enzymatic secretion from the

pancreas. This leads to a reduction in the damage caused to the organ

and surrounding tissue in two animal models of Pancreatitis. More

importantly, our therapeutic shows evidence of a reversal of the AP

cascade after the initiation of the disease and at a stage equivalent

to human patient presentation in a hospital emergency department.

This important discovery may lead to the first generation of

pharmaceutical agents that ameliorate the effects of this disease. FT

has filed a provisional patent application to protect this invention

for commercial purposes and we are seeking a pharmaceutical partner to

develop this research into a useful and valuable therapeutic candidate.
