Guest guest
Hi , Portal Vein Hypertension is very different from Deb’s problem. A few months after her liver transplant, her doctors found a portal vein blood clot. The clot stops the blood flow to her new liver, so her body in response to that clot has made varices (tiny new blood veins) that help carry the blood around the clot to her liver. Because these varices are new and very weak, they often can’t stand the high pressure of the blood moving through them, so they bleed. They can be fixed, but first the doctors have to find them and that’s the hard part. HTH Barb in Texas - Together in the Fight, Whatever it Takes!
