Guest guest
I did try the creon-10 for 2 days and they increased my pain BIG time. So i stopped taking them pronto and within 24 hours I felt so much better. I am now taking a brand called Natural Source from the health food store. They help quite a bit. I just haven't had time to call my GI guy back and see if I can try another kind. I just want to feel better than I am. I still have pain everyday and it seems to be slowly decreasing but I am striving for more relief. I figured why not try another kind. When I am up to it, I will call him again. Guest guest
Hi Holly, Thanks for your nice reply. I was at Mercy, but I HATE to be admitted there. But there was 22 people waiting at home to be admitted to Community the day I was waiting for a room, and only 4 at Mercy. I'm so happy to be home, and your right, it is very quiet at my house. Amy, my 14 y/o is babysitting my 3 y/o nephew but will be home late tonight. I'm sorry to hear about your slip & fall. That sounds very painful! I am on the 50mcg duragesic patch. Absolutely nothing for breakthrough pain. I am still having awful headaches. And I'm very nauseated still. And I just have to tell ya, the diahrrea (darn! never will get the spelling right!) is awful today! It takes a couple weeks? Man, I'm so afraid the pain is going to get so far ahead of me again. I've noticed tonight that I'm having awful pains again, but couldn't figure out why. I hate this so much....I wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy! Don't know if it is from eating again, or what! I was still on clear liquids when they sent me home yesterday. I know the Hill Apartments are, I use to babysit there way-back-in-the-day. Nice place. And I, too am so worried about . I know what she is going through. Poor girl. Kaye's prayer was very nice. Thats amazing we are so close. Lily is only across town, and I've still never met her in person! Isn't that funny? I'm getting off of this thing soon. BTW I am on prodigy, but I also have the AOL IM & my s/n is Kru20Laws, if its ok with you I would like to put you on my buddy list, and please feel free to add mine. Thanks, and if you hear anything about , please let me know. Thanks again. I have never heard of losenge, can you tell me alittle about it so I can ask my doc about it? Thanks alot! Lots of Hugs, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` I used to live in the HILL apartments behind the > Upper Valley Mall. I'm 30 minutes from you on I-70W. I am so glad you are out of the hospital. I too take the Duragesic patch, and it takes about 2 weeks to get adjusted to it, but I would never go back to Morphine. This is a much better controlled pain management for me anyway. I hope and pray it will work for you. What strength do they have you on? I'm on 75 mcg. and then take 600 mcg. losenge every 6 hours for breakthrough pain Well, sleep wonderful tonight! You're in my prayers. Always, Holly

Guest guest
Hi Lily, it's been almost 3 weeks now. I am still getting some pain. I think it's still abit raw in there so I'm trying to be optimistic! the nausea has been quite abit better now. Almost all back to my normal duties which has me pretty tired! Laundry is a constant at our house! I did get a statement from Dr. Lehman and I was shocked at the charges!! I guess it pays to be one of the best! We're hoping insurance will cover all or most of it! Hope you're well. I've been thinking about you alot. How is your son? I got that right didn't I? you have a boy? Have you been able to work? Well keep me posted. All for now, ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Guest guest
Hey Lily, where are you? I haven't heard from you much lately. Are you ok? I hope so! I've missed hearing from you! I went back to the doc. yesterday. I had bad pain over the weekend. He finally gave me some decent pain pills. I hope they help during the extreme days, if you know what I mean! I have to have another stent put in next Friday via ERCP( shiver, shiver) I cried ALL day yesterday. I have never been sooooo depressed in my life. I had bad dreams all night about my procedure to come. Please pray, I am a bit leary to do this again, however if this works... Well who knows?!? I sure do hope all is well with you. Hope to hear from you soon. God Bless, ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Guest guest
Hey , So sorry that it has taken me too long to write back. I have trying to work everyday and putting in 6-7 hours a day. It has been hard even though I have a nurse desk job, it is still hard to handle. There is really no such thing as a nurse desk job, actually it is more like a jack- in- the- box -job. I am always getting up to help one of the docs or someone needs a nurse or a patient is in the hallway and needs to talk with me. So I am up and down alot. BUt I am still thankful that it is not a real clinical job, as my poor body couldn't handle that physically anymore. I am still doing my acupiuncture once every 2 weeks and I must say, I feel like it helps my pain. I have been very blessed not to have to take narcotics daily or even weekly and I really think it has to do with the acupuncture. But I am on enough other regular meds and 15 daily herbs so I am not sure what is keeping me going. Some days I WANT to take the narcotics and some days I SHOULD take the narcotics but I try to get thru it. I can handle the usual abdominal gut pain and nausea MUCH EASIER THAN I CAN THE " PAIN IN THE SKY " from my SOD spasms as Kaye puts it. That SOD pain spasm is not negotiable and then I beg for narcotics !!!!!!! I would rather have a hysterectomy with no general anthesthesia than to have that freakin SOD pain ! Did you ever try the Levsin under your tongue ? I told aboit it and she talked to her doc about it and she has taken it now since her last hospital stay about 3 weeks ago. She said that she can tell a difference in the pain level and the nausea is not as bad. Have you tried it ? Was your ERCP today or next Friday ? I sure hope that you are feeling better. Is this your third ERCP now in less than 2 months ? Who is doing the ERCP ? I will say a prayer for you , you are in my thoughts. I am sorry that I did not write sooner, but prior to today, I was in the slow mode, if you know what I mean. Please take care, Lily Re: To > Hey Lily, where are you? Guest guest
Hi , I will be thinking of you on Thursday and hoping that this ERCP goes well without complications. I will be having a colonoscopy on Friday and the Demerol puts me in a funk for several days. So we will both be under the influence on Friday ! Let us know as soon as you are up to it how you are feeling. My little one is OK, he has a small orthopedic problem with his foot so we went to see an ortho doc. We are doing PT exercizes at home now. My sister is PT and we went to see her and she gave us a routine to do. And of course the insurance company does pay for PT, but I doubt that they would appreciate the fact that I just saved them a ton of money on PT visits !!!! It is OK when you save THEM money but not when you want them to approve a test for the patient. Oh well,,,,, I best not get started on my spoap box this early in the morning ! Take care and good luck this Friday, Lily Re: To > HI Lily, thanx for writing. i will have myercp this Friday. My surgeon is > the one who is doing it. Guest guest
Lily, I will be thinking of you too! Oh that whole colonoskopy thing sounds horrible! do they think something else is wrong or is this a routine check or what? I hope you do ok. I'll be praying for you. Well that is before I drift off to sleep myself! Glad your son is ok. Guess what I found out, well my insurance co. has been paying for one plan© and we have plan and plan B is better! So since 8/01 they have been paying not enough for our benefits and we have been paying too much! so the insurance co. has to review all our claims from 8/01 till present! I just may be getting a bonus after all! What a mess. I am just glad I don't need to clean this one up!! Well any way take care. Guest guest
, If I am reading your e-mail correctly, you have had one attack of acute pancreatitis. If so, there is every possibility that once your pancreas settles down, you may never have the pain or attacks again. However, I would suggest you see a GI who is experienced in treating pancreatitis so they can investigate the cause of the acute pancreatitis. Guest guest
Hello. As soon as my insurance comes in effect I am going to a GI. Thanks, P.S. My mother also had this in December and she is full blown diabetic. Thanks for your thoughts . HUGS,
Guest guest
Thank you for your kind words. You didn't sign your post, therefore I can't thank you by name. (I'm still learning everyone!) I think my days are finally leveling off now, thank God. I have a list of other ailments and they sometimes seem to all hit at once. Appreciate your support! Guest guest
- Was/is your husband a doctor? Seems I'm recollecting a Mitch from this board. True, Dr. Gitlin does not have any self esteem issues. And I may have told you this already - but when he first met with Fred and me and gave the official diagnosis of PSC, he said to me, " Well, if your husband kicks the bucket, we'll just find you a new one on the Internet! " Yeah we've got a sense of humor, but even THAT was a bit over the top! We've decided on the Mayo Clinic in ville as our next stop - when Fred gets to feeling better. You'd think there'd be a hepatologist knowledgeable about PSC in Atlanta, but not so, as far as we can tell. Wife of Fred, PSC 03/04, UC 03/06, Gastritis, Pancreatitis 10/07 Mitch, my husband, got dx. > in 1998 and went to Dr. Gitlen.... we hated him.... he is soooo arrogant.
