Guest guest
Welcome . My 14 yr. old daughter has FM also, and was diagnosed when she was 10. I'd like to talk to you more, but am having a very bad day so must keep this short. This is a great group with lots of caring, supportive people. She did pretty well at the beginning of the next year until she got another infection, and was paralyzed in her thinking during a time of year when a huge major writing project was due....and all she could do was stare at the work. We had a sleep study done at spring break, and she was diagnosed with something close to sleep apnea, but they gave her a cpap machine, and this made a huge difference in her ability to get to sleep quickly and that improved her health. > > This past fall, she was fine (as per usual) during marching season (she is > in band), but when it stopped, her grades started to fall, so when the > teacher wrote me, I went to the doctor and he finally called it > fibromyalgia and we postponed her exams, but not by much. Guest guest
Jeanne, Thanks so much for the warm welcome. What brought on your daughter's FM? Did she have any developmental issues when she was little? I'd love to compare notes. At 12:14 PM 2/13/2008, you wrote: >Welcome . Guest guest
Dear Jeanne and , My dtr has cfs and fibro.. She had symptoms since 5 yrs old however was not diagnosed till she was about 11. Mostly she suffered dizzy spells with low blood pressure and always had difficulty in school. She slept alot and couldn't get up in the morning frequently due to tired and dizziness. She did graduate high school and goes to university in her 3rd year which has actually taken her about 5 years due to limiting her amt of credits per semester.Any questions you may e mail me. I don't know if you guys have your daughters in any special programs for students with disabilities. If they are available to you which they should be they should qualify by law for these programs.
