Guest guest
Delia, You've lost 20 pounds in less then two months and you call that a failure?? I think you are doing great and it does take time, even with the surgery. Some months it just falls off it seems like and some months it doesn't move at all, that darn scale! I am pretty sure it hates me! I think I lost about an average of 4 pounds a week the first 6 months. Don't worry, it will come off, and stop thinking of yourself as a failure, with that attitude you are setting yourself up for failing. Your wls family is here, we will help you any way we can. Drink your water young lady! Eat your protein (or drink it), and enjoy your new life and stop worring about the past, there isn't anything you can do to change it anyway! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. My name is Delia and I am 36 yrs old and have a son name , which I love with all my heart. I decided to have Gastric bypass surgery about three yrs ago after my divorce, which was a wake up call for me. I was schedule four times for surgery and every time it got canceled due to me getting sick or I had some type of infection in my blood. I then decided to wait three yrs later, which would be 2006 to try again. I finally had my surgery on Oct 9, 2006 and all went well I even lost 20 pounds. I am getting about two protein shakes daily most of the time and I am now on soups and soft foods. I am doing much better now with water now and I even stared going to the gym this week. I am new at this so I would love feed back for you guys I have read some of message boards they keep me going. I am feeling very discouraged due to me not losing any more weight I feel I have failed again.. The Doctor told me if in four weeks there were no weight loss he would order an upper GI. I feel I have failed again.
Guest guest
Delia, Hi my name is and I also had my surgery on oct 9. First I commend you on sticking with this for so long, just the commitment to time is an accomplishment. If you could stay focused that long on wanting to get it done then you should be able to stay focused on losing the weight. Everyone hits plateaus where they dont lose any weight for a couple weeks. I have already hit my second,I think what it is a point where your body feels comfortable(a weight that maybe you had been at for awhile) or it just needs to catch up with your weight loss. Dont feel discouraged keep on going and it will happen. Watch you will just wake up one day and BANG MORE WEIGHT WILL BE GONE. Stick with your diet plan and keep exercising. I f you need to feel free to e-mail me any time and I will do what I can to help you out. Remember you didnt get that way overnight it will take time. Delia wrote: Hi everyone! Guest guest
Delia - be patient with yourself - you've only just begun! I think people concentrate too much on the scale. The gym is a great step in the right direction.... Keep going foward without looking back! You are doing great! Jackie in CA Delia wrote: Hi everyone! Guest guest
I've been hearing this is happening to quite a few people, so maybe the moderators could check and see what is up with Yahoo.
