Guest guest
Chelle, I got my copy today. This is far and away the best thing ever to take to my healthcare providers. I can't say enough good things about both the articles, the PT articl and the Coexisting Conditions article, in terms of being clear, comprehensive, and succinct combinations of info from a variety of good sources. YES, a great idea to get permission to post it. What a great FAQ section post on any of these websites. I also want to say - I would never have found the information I have used to get better without these websites and people like you. I have also appreciated the NVA News, but this is just the best edition ever. -McTwirly (, who is AT THIS VERY MOMENT sitting at her computer in structured pants, smiling like a Cheshire cat)
Guest guest
i live in the nw suburbs of chicago. does anybody on this site know of a good gyno for this problem in this area? so far i've found some real screwballs but no good drs that have a clue. the way i got a diagnosis finally was to go up to mayo clinic. that was after 5 different drs here. but mayo won't do follow up by phone and i was already up there 3 different times for several days each trip this year. not where i wanted to spend my vacation days. but at least there you get good drs. i'm actually working with a neurologist here for my meds but i need a gyno for the componding creams and my estogen ring. and the one i used to have just doesn't have a clue.thanks to everyone here. Subject: Physical Therapy Article in the NVA NEWSLETTER - , Liz & RhondaTo: vulvardisorders , happypelvis Date: Thursday, October 9, 2008, 8:28 PM Back in February, some will remember, Prendergast and Liz Rummer (pelvicpainrehab. com) flew to Chicago for the taping of the Oprah Show that was to include a segment about Vulvodynia. The segment has yet to air. It was still a success, because and Liz spoke with Christen Veasley and Rhonda joined them later that evening. It was agreed that the PT's would write a fall article for the NVA Newsletter. I received my copy in the mail today. Sure enough the article is the first one on the front page. It is well written. They highlight things like: skin rolling, trigger point release and how pain is referred to areas from trigger points, they give an example of a Case report of a 24 yr. old woman with vestibulitis (aka vestibulodynia) and her treatment to wellness through her evaluation and treatment plan.I will write to Christin and also and see if we could put the article on the groups. I think it's best to get permission! If you are able, consider contacting the NVA for a copy of this newsletter. I believe they charge $10. The money goes for a worthy cause...RESEARCH for vulvar pain. There are doctors and practitioners that are members of the NVA. Hopefully this article will introduce some of them to possibility of pelvic floor dysfunction and the role of neuro-muscular pain. One step at a time Ladies...we' ll get there...Chelle
