Guest guest
I have been through a really bad health week. Last THursday it started with Severe Fatigue.....so much that my body was totally numb. Saturday night I started with a fever of like 100.6 That went away on Sunday but then I started with a congested cough. On Monday I started with the head congestion......... Now I immediately went on the Zpak to combat the bronchitis.......but on Monday afternoon I started again with the fevers......and I haven't been able to shake it since...... Now I thought the Fatigue was Fibromylgia related and I still think that but what about the fever......Has anyone ever had an unexplained fever that carried on for days? Guest guest
How long do you run it for? In a message dated 2/13/2008 6:34:41 P.M. Guest guest
Hi Ken, Back in 1995 I started having unexplained fevers, normally low grade. I was also having pain that I kept saying was in my hip bones, then in my shoulders, then in my back. After $100,000+ in testing, having my case taken to a medical conference, and stumping the best doctor at Frist Clinic my diagnosis was " We just don't know what's wrong with you " . At that point I asked am I just depressed and was told " You probably are after everything you have went through but we know there is a problem because your blood work isn't right " . So for a long time they debated if I had leukemia, something (can't remember what the first word was) dysplastic syndrome, or if my internal temp gage went on the fritz. Well, in 2006 I finally got a real diagnosis and they feel all that stuff was related back to that point in 1995. My diagnosis??? Fybromyalgia!!! The person to finally figure it out??? My diabetic specialist! When I told my primary care physician what my diabetic specialist said he said " I bet you think I don't believe you " . Comes to find out he had thought that was the problem all along but felt that sending me to the specialists at The Frist Clinic was the road to take. When they couldn't figure it out he just thought he was wrong all along. He said that he had other patience over the years that had the fevers but since they weren't a classic sign it made the diagnosis harder. So if it was my guess, you are in the middle of a flare. That's when I have the most trouble with fevers. Hope that helps a little Soft Hugs, Angelia **************The year's hottest artists on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. Go to AOL Music. Guest guest
Every now and then I'll have low grade fever no higher than 99.1 that usually coincide with bad allergy days, allergy related flare ups, and sinus pressure and pain. But if it goes that high I usually assume I'm fighting a bug like a cold or flu. Hope you feel better! Guest guest
wow....very sorry to hear what you're going through....fortunately the Z-PAC works for me all the time so the bronchitis is pretty much gone but I can't shake this fever. Went to my pulmonologist yesterday and he has decided to do a head CT scan to make sure there's nothing going on in my sinuses, etc. that is causing this. It's a pain in the butt is what it is. Bad enough to be fatigued because of the fibro, but to feel like crap on top of it??? Yuck! Guest guest
Hi Darlene, I'm glad you're having a CT scan to determine if something is wrong with your sinuses. I get sinus infections a lot and over Christmas came down with bronchitis and a sinus infection that turned into pneumonia. I was on antibiotics for 6 weeks, but I was able to stay out of the hospital. I have asthma and Sarcoidosis in my lungs so I was sure I was headed there. I'm so sorry you had to stay that long in the hospital. I remember when you first came home and told us you were getting worse. How are you feeling now? Have you gotten better with this antibiotic? My CT scan showed I had an abscess in my sinuses and it has left a small hole. Just what I needed another hole in my head! LOL I hope you kick all of this soon. Commiserating with you in CT. (Lived in GA before moving here in 1982. I think we have talked about that and it ended up we lived very close to each other. Aren't you in Roswell?)
