off-topic but pain related

Hey Guys--Well I'm having a non-v pain issue and not sure what to do.

It's been going on for a few weeks. It's an intense aching pain on the

back left side of my mouth primarily in my gums, mostly on the top but

sometimes radiating down to the bottom. Sometimes it spreads up kind

of under my cheekbone. It feels more deep inside, not on the surface.

It's getting pretty painful.

At first I thought it was a TMJ flare as I've dealt with that before.

However, my TMJ is always on the other side and usually just hurts

when I am opening or closing my jaw and clicks and pops. This pain

that I'm having now is entirely different.

I don't have dental insurance. I feel like I should go to the doc, but

I guess I am wary because whenever I have a problem they always just

tell me everything's fine and sorry!

Any ideas or suggestions? It's getting really bad and I can't

concentrate to do my homework.

I started having all of these new problems when I went on oral

hydrocortisone for adrenal issues, which I really regret now because I

think it really suppressed my immune system. I was only on it for

about 6 weeks from beginning of August to mid-September. I'm hoping

everything will get back to normal once it's out of my system.

Thanks--

Hi Arline--

My adrenal issues are that I have very low cortisol levels, at least

according to a saliva test that I did. Blood tests I had showed normal

cortisol levels. So, I'm not sure what to think as there are so many

differing viewpoints on the topic.

I'm considering re-taking the test. I went on HC....I did a fair

amount of research before starting it and from what I read it seemed

totally safe, but for me it didn't turn out to be. My immune system

was really compromised--I got multiple infections while on it,

including the vaginal ones.

I'm not sure what to think but I sure wish I never took that stuff!

Poor you, . I really admire you for all you have done to get to the bottom

of this. Keep trying.

Thanks, Arline. Don't feel too bad for me! I actually was doing

amazingly well and well on my way to being pain free until I got hit

with the BV issue and everything with the hydrocortisone. I even

stopped posting and reading this group because I felt well enough to

put it away for a while. I'm totally confident that once I get back on

track and back to PT I'll be right back on my way to pain-freeness. My

pain still isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, even with this

stubborn infection. I've been sitting all day today and have hardly

any burning. I see this as just a bump in the road. Just hope for me

that it passes soon!
