Hi sandy and welcome to THE group! I was DXed May 07 and have been thru alot to

finally find a fibro specialist

who gave me trigger point injections that helped only a little. I saw a PAIN

specialist that was a jerk and a joke

he was only pushing HIS therapy. I don't put all pain specialist in the same

catagory but my experience wasn't to my benefit. My FM specialist said that

therapy wasn't all that beneficial,but again that was his opinion, but

atleast he did give me a few hydrocodone pain pills to help where as every other

Dr. I saw wouldn't go that far.

Findinding the right Drs. and the right treatment can be a long journey for

some. I hope yours isn't as long as mne has been.

I am on a # of meds and heeeere they are

Celexa-depression,Klonopin-anxiety,Straterra-AADD it's also a norephineprin

reuptake inhitor possibly simular to one of the ingredients in Cymbalta.

Robaxin-muscle relaxer,A whopping 450mgs. Lyrica per day,150 3x

day,Lotrel-HBP,Prilosec-tummy, and just the other day

my PCP gave me a plentiful supply of Darvacet N-100 for the moderate pain and I

try to save the Hydocodone for the svere pain.

As far as what to say to your new pain specialist, just tell him when,where and

how bad you hurt would be my best suggestion.

Sorry about late welcome but I have been consumed by my own pain to the point of

not feeling like sitting in front off this puter. I HOPE YOU make new friends

and enjoy the expeience of belonging. Sandy I hope you find the Love,

encouragement and support I have found since joining ! ! !

Hi Everyone,My name is Sandy and I was diagnosed last year. My doc is slightly

supportive, but I think he would be happier if I went away. He wants to refer me

to a pain specialist. I think that's a great idea! Has anyone been to one? I

don't know what kind of questions to ask or what to tell him.SAndy
