Hi Everyone, I am the Developmental Disabilities Coordinator at JAFCO in Sunrise , Florida . I am excited to share with you the attached article describing the state of the art Respite and Family Resource Center we are opening in 2012. It will be conveniently located in the city of Sunrise , serving the tri county area. The center will provide a full continuum of services to children and young adults with developmental disabilities and their families including: counseling, therapies, physical fitness, cultural and recreational arts, out door play areas, independent living, education and training and support groups for the entire family. Families can look forward to receiving up to two weeks of respite a year. We are currently developing caregiver support groups to begin in the fall.
