Marsha, Please, please join the Yahoo Lichens Schlerosis group as soon as possible. I have what is probably Lichens Planus, which is very similar to LS and have found this group to bean incredible resource. You'll get a great deal of help and support there from a wonderful group of women who know exactly what you are going through and can help you in regaining your vulvar health and your sex life. Here's the link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LichenSclerosis/HolllisOn Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 5:51 PM, marsha wrote: HELLO, I HAVE JUST HAD BIOPSYS,AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH LICHEN SCLEROSIS,I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS AND HOPE THAT SOMEONE CAN GIVE ME MORE INFO ON WHAT WORKS FOR THEM,IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS SINCE MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE MADE LOVE,I AM GETTING DEPRESSED BECAUSE I DONT KNOW IF I CAN EVER PLEASE HIM AGAIN.I AM 53,GOING THRU MENOPAUSE AND THATS BAD ENOUGH.WILL I EVER BE CLOSE TO NORMAL AGAIN? Marsha,

Sorry for your pain.

In my opinion using the steroid ointment (cream?) while your tissue is healing from the cuts from the biopsy is not a good thing to do. Steroids don't add to healing wounds and can make it worse. (If this is what you are doing). The same thing happened to me years ago when I had 12 knife biopsies (without stitches). The steroids made the healing delayed.

Not sure what is going on here or how long it has been since the biopsies.

Hang in there.

Arline

Ditto on joining the LS group and the steroid use - also 2x/day is a

TON - clobetasol is very strong and needs to be used as sparingly as

possible. It should also be tapered back to every other day, then every

three days, then once a week, etc. as you see symptom improvement. And

there are lots of other things to try besides clob. Please join the

other group and read their file " Meds and Suggestions " - it's a

lifesaver!

You can expect that a doc will prescribe Clobetasol (or other steroid ointment)

that may or may not relieve some of the symptoms.

Are you saying that the doc says you haven't been having yeast infections but it

is simply (ha!) LS??

My 12 biopsy diagnosed LS was strictly a reaction to candida. I believe now that

Brewer's and Baker's yeast were also involved.

I suggest that you investigate which foods may be causing this--such as gluten,

dairy products, and brewer's and baker's yeast.

My opinion. Best Wishes.

I'm sure some have been yeast, but I've had these grey patches on my

labia which before would get better and go away but for the last year

or so I have been under tremendous stress related to my marriage and

they have been continual and red and irritated from anal area to clit

have had diflucan multiple times and all kinds of cream to no avail.

When I went on Friday I was at my wit's end. She did give me cream

and the burning seems to be better. My marriage is fragile at best

and I'm not sure what this will do to it. I started research on

Saturday and all I read is that it is incurable. I'm just really

upset, cant sleep, not sure where to go from here. Deb
