Guest guest
Hi, For what it's worth, my vulvar pain improved while I was on the Mirena for endometriosis, but it killed my sex drive, so I had it removed. As Lindsey says, it's best to listen to your gut... Guest guest
Hello, I think that hydrocortisone and any topical steroids can be used positively, (in fact, before I was preggo I used clobetasol-a topical steroid) but I think they can have a bounce back effect and cause more inflammation or even skin thinning, so it is good to support your body with nutrition. Omega-3 fatty acids are good at reducing overal inflammation according to my naturopath. I also take antioxidanats in the form of Mona Vie, a juice supplement. Mona Vie is a multilevel marketing thing, and I think there are lots of other good and cheaper antioxidants that you can take. Grape seed extract, vitamin C, vitamin E, and eating foods like salmon, blueberries, green tea, all high in natural antiinflammatories. Reducing fried food and trans fats and exposure to any foods you might have a mild allergic reaction to-dairy, wheat, etc. I'm pretty balanced. I wouldn't cut out wheat entirely but I have reduced it greatly. Corn is also supposed to really shoot up levels of inflammation in your body, as does sugar. Also, one of the ways that IUDs work is by causing low-grade inflammation of your uterus, which is muscle and mucosal tissue that is connected to your vagina and vulva. That is definitely an area that I would NOT want to encourage inflammation. In fact, I take nutritional supplements to lower overall inflammation. If your gut is telling you it's making it worse, have it removed. Your doc is your employee. You can always have it reinserted if there is no improvement within several months. > Hugs, > Lindsey > ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __ >
