What causes Yeast and recurrence of BV?

Do anyone know if sugary food really causes yeast? And does recurrence of bv is caused by the vagina being unbalanced?

Sugar doesn't cause yeast but it feeds it and it may be part of the mix. We always have yeast normally in the body but when it overgrows it causes the problems. There seems to be some idea that it overgrows because of disbalance of the bacteria in the system. There is also some idea that yeast reoccurring constantly may be an indication of an intestinal problem--immune reaction to foods, autoimmune disease, etc. It doesn't cause it but it surely keeps it going.
