Guest guest
Since having my 2nd son 18 months ago I've had problems with a constant small tear/sometimes just grazing and bruising at the 6 o'clock point after sex that more often than not bleeds. I've been told I have vaginal dryness due to a hormone imbalance but before I start down the HRT route my GP had referred me to a Vulva Dermatologist to check it's not some skin condition. I should get an appointment in the next few weeks so will let you know what she says but you might want to ask your GP to refer you too? I would stress though to make sure it's a Dermatologist that specialises in the Vulva. I believe many hospital's have these clinics, I'm assuming your in the UK? > > I have been diagnosed with vulvodynia but after doing a lot of research > i am unsure. Guest guest
Perhaps you should be aware that sometimes these paper cut like things can be small fistula from Crohn's Disease and often gyn problems are really results of gastrointestinal disease. Something else to think about. Arline I have been diagnosed with vulvodynia but after doing a lot > of research > i am unsure. Guest guest
Paper cut-like tears are a quite common symptom of Lichens Schlerosis and/or Lichens Planus. Arline's heads up about gluten sensitivity being a possible cause is a good one. For information and support -- and help finding a good vulvar specialist -- i'd suggest that you join the Yahoo Lichens Schlerosis group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LichenSclerosis/HollisOn Wed, Oct 22, 2008 at 11:42 PM, raggiecleo wrote: I have been diagnosed with vulvodynia but after doing a lot of research i am unsure. Guest guest
Hi Cranberry, I've had a lot of problems with my hormones since the birth of my second son, too. For the past 3 yrs. I've been using topical Estrace cream -- and even had to go on an estrogen patch. I'm only 36. Anyway, at my worst...my vulvar skin was beginning to tear...I cannot say enough about how wonderful the topical estrogen cream has been. It rebuilt my tissue and I have not torn since. I hope you find relief soon... Chelle
Guest guest
Where are you located and maybe one of us can help you find a good doc? Don't bother with stupid docs that won't take you seriously or listen to what you have to say. UGH! If you think the little tears 'are' related to the vulvodynia, then go with your gut instinct. The tears were definitely a result of my skin begin in such bad shape. They completely healed with estrogen cream use, but I realize we are all different and it might be a good idea to see a Dermatologist or someone that could help determine 'why' your skin is tearing. Don't give up...and run from any doc that won't listen to you!!!
