Guest guest
Marti, If I have another hole in my head, well, I'll see if they can fill it with something useful....lolol....... I actually live in , maybe an hour or so south of Roswell, depending on traffic. What is sarcoidosis? I was told I have COPD (chronic bronchitis and asthma) but it's weird that I'm not feeling better yet. In fact, my mom stopped by and looked like she wanted to cry. I have ugly deep circles under my eyes. I sleep at night with my bi-pap machine and don't wake up but DH and I feel my oxygen is dropping too low (had an overnight pulse ox done last night so we'll see) and that may be causing some of the exhaustion during the day. Because trust me, my days are not filled to the brim any more! If I'm on the 'puter, I'll do some laundry. If I walk thru the kitchen, I'll make the kids' lunches and DH's coffee for the next day. In other words, as I walk thru the house, I'll do what needs to be done and not worry about the rest. Today actually scared me. I had gotten a set of silicone Hershey Kiss baking pans and thought it would be nice to make a cake for us for dessert. I put it in the oven and set the timer and guess what I did? Went to sleep! I never heard the timer go off and what woke me up was my cell phone shrilling that I had a voicemail! Of course the cake was burned, not fully so we can feed it to the birds at least, but I was very disappointed. And it made me realize that if I'm going to put something in the oven like that, I'm going to have to keep on moving so I DON'T fall asleep! The CT of my lungs didn't reveal any masses, lumps bumps or anything like that, which is good. As my mom says, eventually they'll have pictures of my whole body....lol...because I have a vascular appt at the end of the month (happy birthday to me, right? hah!) because the cardiac doctor that checked me out in the hospital felt I have lower extremity blockages. Yippee. Although, in thinking about that, if they fix that, then more oxygenated blood gets to the areas it needs to get and maybe, just maybe, the pain won't be so bad? It'll be tolerable? One can only hope! Know that you remain in my prayers; I know the 20th is coming and while you are eager to get going, the unknown is likely scary. We'll be here! Guest guest
Hi Darlene, Yeah, I don't know what they are going to do with that hole. Maybe nothing. But if I were " Go Go Gadget " I would be able to think of something useful! LOL I remember now that you live in . I knew it was close to someone. My dear friend's husband from Georgia (where I lived until 1982)(now in CT) is from . His father still lives there and I have been there many times. When his father was young he managed the Ben lin store there. It was the only Ben lin store I had, and have, ever seen. Is it still there or has it gone the way of the Big Box stores like everything else? Sarcoidosis is an autoimmune disease that causes tumors made of lots of small cells called granulomas. They grow and destroy whatever they are in the mood to. They cause mass inflammation, thus the Prednisone. In the eyes, where I have a bad case, they cause glaucoma, cataracts, and inflammation of everything. I have been in treatment for my eyes since June, when I almost went blind. I have to have shots in my eyes - such fun - every other month or so and still have a hard time seeing. That's why this small print drives me crazy and I have to magnify it on my end to read or write in it. Other sites I am on will let the larger print go through so I can read it better, but magnifying it usually works unless I lose some of it off to the right side and then I have to go back and forth with the magnification. But I digress. Sarcoidosis is at least not a disease that can't be proven like Fibromyalgia. I had biopsies in both eyes that showed the sarcoid. CT scans show the nodules, as they as called, in my lungs and other areas. It causes the blood/oxygen level to go way down in those areas, thus the complications with bronchitis and pneumonia. It's funny how you describe the walk throughs. I do a lot of that, except everything that's hard is on another floor. I loved this place when I bought it with the bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs and most of the other rooms and bath and garage on the main floor and the laundry and playroom and another bedroom and bath downstairs. It's all open with cathedral ceilings and the stairs are open. I have begun to regret that there are so many stairs and that I can't close off the downstairs so it doesn't have to look nice, which it doesn't. You can see up and down when you come in the front door, so my messes are clearly visible. Now I recognize the ease of a ranch layout. Although going up and down the stairs is at least some exercise. My knees and hip yell at me about them though. I hope you feel better today, Marti ddean228 wrote: Marti, If I have another hole in my head, well, I'll see if they can fill it with something useful....lolol....... Guest guest
Marti, Perhaps I could have that extra set of hands that I always seem to need implanted??? hahahaha No more Ben lin here. We have a Super Walmart. I personally liked the small-town feel of the old Walmarts, you know? And is such a small town that you could easily go down aisles and find folks " catching up " about this and that. Very homey. Not so much any more. Okay, now I understand sarcoidosis! I don't think I have that but when you mentioned the lungs, I was thinking...hmmmm.. the doc switched me from prednisone to a dex-pak. I'm on day 2. Not really noticing much of a difference. Everyone else can still hear me wheezing....lol.... At least nothing hurts (much). My reflexologist did a LOT of work yesterday on me to try and open up my chest, etc. Plus she worked a knot on my shoulders (in the middle) half-to-death with this machine thingie, then put some birch essential oil on it. the lump is gone today and it doesn't hurt! We opted for a ranch style because I have bone chips in one knee and have had problems with sprains, etc. in the past. I told DH that as I got older, the last thing I wanted to do was have to worry about breaking something climbing up and down stairs! So he was putting in bait stations and came across our house. He walked around the perimeter and prayed that if that was where God wanted us, He'd make a way for it to happen. We'll be here 3 yrs come Monday....lol. And DH has done so much to the outside as far as landscaping, etc. using natural products he finds while driving from job to job, it's very appealing. I may not be able to go out and weed any more, but I love pretty flowers! My eye doctor said at my last appointment that there was " something " on the left side of my head that he could see using that light thing, but he couldn't say for sure what it was/is. So maybe the CT scan will bring some enlightenment there! Here's hoping that all are having as pain-free a day as possible. Guest guest
Darlene, Ben lin sure brings back memories as a kid. we loved in the country (yes I am a Country girl ) so we got to go down town on Saturdays. Also Newberrys was a dime store and a soda fountain it was awesome. I was so sad when they all closed. Downyown us to be so fun now everyting has changed to the Malls and I cannort stand to be in them unless I have to. tThings use to be so much easier back then. Thanks for the memory, Lori H ddean228 wrote: Marti, Perhaps I could have that extra set of hands that I always seem to need implanted??? hahahaha No more Ben lin here. We have a Super Walmart.
