Guest guest
Hello All. Got home late yesterday afternoon after spending 7 days in the hospital. My stay was extended by 2 days due to problems with my blood pressure being very low. It finally started comning back up towards a more normal reading. I was SOOOO glad to finally get home. Was well taken care of in the hospital, but nothing beats your own home/bed/ect. I probably slept the best last night in my own bed than I did at all in the hopital. Pretty hard to sleep on those extremely hard plastic mattresses and pillows they use. Anyway, they got all the tumor and I go back for a follow up on the 20th. In the mean time - I can't do anything, no-bending, stretching, picking anything up, no driving. Even had to get one of those shower benches to be able to take a shower and boy does it work good. gotta go for now, will talk later. Guest guest
Christi, First of all, glad you are back home. Take it ultra easy. let others do for you. Definitely use the shower stool/seat - I couldn't believe how weak I was after 9 days and I didn't have surgery! Glad also that they got all your tumor! Here's praying for a speedy recovery and no flares while you are doing it! (((Hugs))) Darlene > > Hello All. > > Got home late yesterday afternoon after spending 7 days in the > hospital. Guest guest
Hi Christi, I'm so glad that everything went well. I know what you mean about being in your own bed and I don't know why the hospital mattreses have to be so uncomfortable. Be sure you do what the doctor says and don't cheat. You need to mend right. I hope you feel better soon. Marti Christi Randall wrote: Hello All. Got home late yesterday afternoon after spending 7 days in the hospital. Guest guest
Hello, Christi! I'm so glad to hear that you're home and resting well. Back surgery for any reason is a very scary thing, but you'll be great if you just be very careful and follow their instructions! I had a double fusion in my lumbar spine three years ago, and I spent 13 days in the hospital. 13 of the least restful days I've ever experienced. Then a huge brace for six months, no driving for three months, was on disability from work for three months and then returned to full time very gradually. That shower chair will be come your best helper! A hand-held shower head is also great and keeps you from having to reach or turn or bend for anything! Best wishes to you for a complete recovery! Take good care of yourself! in Houston If you would like to share your FM story, please contact me at fibrobook@... > > Hello All. > > Got home late yesterday afternoon after spending 7 days in the > hospital. Guest guest
Christi I am so glad you made it through your surgery! Also happy you are home sleeping in your own bed now. Don't sleep good in hospitals either. Rest well and take it easy " like the doctor orderd " . Just excellent they got the tumor out, also. soft hugs, Debbie J > > Hello All. > > Got home late yesterday afternoon after spending 7 days in the > hospital. I was SOOOO glad to finally get > home. Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome back everyone. I am still pretty drugged up and will not be on everyday or for very long. Will take some time to get back into the swing of things. Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com Re: Back home from back surgery Hi Christi, I was just asking about you the other day!
