Guest guest
Hello Everybody! I was wondering if anybody knows of a tutor/ tutoring service for a 6 year old in the Sunrise/Plantation/Weston area. It will be great if it can be cover by the insurance (or am I asking too much?). Another option that I'm willing to try is for a training class or seminar for me, so I can learn strategies and techniques to do it at home. I want to start this as soon as possible so the " knowledge gap " won't get too big to handle. Thanks for any advice you have! Guest guest
Hi Carolina, You can sign up for the training the Broward Schools ESE Dept is having on Sept 21 at 9:30-11:30 am at . It is called " Great Leaps Reading Success. " It will be held at Driftwood Elementary. I am planing on going myself. I am also looking for an affordable tutor for the Sunrise/Weston area. Someone that knows how to deal with ASD kids. My son is 7. I am looking into providers. The one I found uses Edmark and Readwell programs to teach but the autism coach at his school does not like those programs. (His teacher does, so it's kind of confusing.) The ASD coach is sending me a list of the programs his school approves of. Maybe you want to touch base with your child's autism coach to see what she recommends before you hire a tutor. Guest guest
If you visit CARD's website, either www.nsucard.org or www.umcard.org :1. On the home page, you will see a list of options across the top (Home; About CARD; Resources; Community; etc) 2. Roll your cursor over " Resources " and a drop-down menu should appear3. In the drop-down menu, click on " newsletter " 4. A pdf file will begin to download. This will have all kinds of information about CARD and upcoming events. Another thing you can do is sign-up for their weekly email blast (if you haven't done so already):1. On the home page, on the right-hand side, you will see a section that says " Sign up to receive our weekly email blasts! " 2. Click there and follow the prompts )You will then begin receiving weekly emails (on Friday afternoons) that gives you information on events that will be happening at CARD in the following week. Also included in the blast will be some community events/activities hosted by community providers. I hope this helps!
