One thing I’ve learned after Ken’s transplant and maybe other

caretakers can identify with…. I can cry and get choked up at the drop of a hat. Me the hard core old broad, choked up

with tears, not a pretty picture.

Reading what athan’s sister wrote about

their triathlon experience was overwhelming. You can feel the love she has for her

brothers come through loud and clear.

(Reminded me of what Kim went through with Ken’s transplant.)

athan, you look great! Your sister writes so well, I almost

felt like I was there….

Is there a possibility of getting 's blog in an easy print version? I am starting "the rounds" of talking to 6 different community service groups over the next two months. The first session is Tuesday. Each service group is about 30-40 people. I will speak with one of the nurse educators at the hospital where I work; our talk is focused on both the importance of completing an Advance Directive for Health Care as well as the importance of organ donation. I would love to be able to hand out 's story to everyone attending each session.

So, I am both asking permission to share your story and her story - and Barb is right, it is beautifully written! And if it can't be formatted for easy printing, I'll re-type it (if it is OK to share with others!!)

I'll ask if it's OK for you to copy it. I'm pretty sure she'll

say yes, but I can't say it for her :-) (And thank you for asking too!)

If and when she does OK it, you could easily just copy and paste the

text into a program like Word. If you need to know how to do that, I'll

let you know when I hear back from her!

Joanne,

It's fine for you to copy 's blog. She said she was pleased that

you were interested. I've attached a Word version of it that should

print well if you can open it. said she was planning on putting

some better pictures with it, so you might want to check back and see

(if you want the pictures in your printed document that is!) If you

don't want to print the picture, you should be able to just click on it

and hit delete.
