URQ Pain

Tina,

Before my transplant, I had similar pain. It eventually turned out to be a gall bladder attack. The pain got worse and I ended up in the ER and then in the local hospital for a week, waiting for a bed to open up at the university hospital. The best part was the trip from Marquette to Ann Arbor on a small air ambulance. It was my one and only ride on a small jet.

I suggest you get into any doc, even a primary care physician to check out your pain. If it is an infection, the earlier you catch it the better. Your regular blood tests for PSC might not be checking for an infection. Pain is the signal that someone needs to investigate. I t might even be worth calling your hep doc and tell them you are in pain.

Group,

I've been diagnosed with PSC/UC for nine years now. I've been

pretty symptom free. I did have some extreme upper right quadrant (URQ)

pain when I was pregnant 3 years ago. Now, I am experiencing the dull,

sometimes burning pain more often (every day to some extent or

another). Does anyone else have this and could it be due to anything

else? I've considered gall bladder or pancreas problems since my lab

values and CTs are normal. I also notice muscle cramping in the area

sometimes when I exercise. This makes me think that my liver may be

enlarged, but I would think that would show on the CT. Any feedback

would be appreciated. I cannot see my Heptalogist for another six

months and last time I mentioned it (one year ago), he couldn't give me

a reason for the pain.

Thanks, Tina

Tina My son had that pain ranging from dull to excurutiating for 8 years. They never found anything to blame it on despite removing his gallbladder, multiple ERCPs, EGDs, colonoscopies, ultrasounds and CTs. After the tx there has been no further pain.
