Hello all,

I am a 49 year old Female who for the past 10 years was told I had Bi-Polar with

PTSD/Depression/Anxiety. When I actually have a Autism Spectrum Disorder!

I have a 22 year old Son with Autism so I am not suprised by this. It makes

perfect sense to me.

You see, I like to collect a lot of things. Clocks, water globes, books, fans,

and other things. When I do something I do it with a real passion and become

obsessed by it.

I started my own business at Amazon.com selling Toys, games, and books. I do

really well at it. And, I love it. I don't have to be around people!

I have been in business for almost 3 years.

Anywaay, I have been married for 30 years to a wonderful man who has endured all

my ups and downs.

I have a shopping addiction too.

Which is why I started selling on Amazon.

I would love to talk to anyone who has had a similar experience.

Wow, that is amazing! I have one sister that we all suspect is Aspie, her son

was recently diagnosed the same and she has no idea that she is. The doctors

recently diagnosed her as bipolar, she has battled depression all her adult life

and she is a shopaholic too! I will let her know about your situation and see if

she listens...

By the way, did any of the medication they gave you for the other diagnosis

It is unfortunate4 that you were given the wrong diadnosis...it has happened to me, but mine involved my gallbladder....There are related symtoms in being bipolar or on the autistic spectrum. The good news is that you seem to be doing well which is always great. If you need to talk or if your 22 year old son needs a friend just email me. What makes you think you have autism? A diagnosis of autism involves communication deficit, social deficits, and self stimulating behaviors. As a young child, were you able to attend elementary school ? When did you begin to talk? How was your language and your social skills?
