Sharon,

I was switched to the nasal pillows because the full face mask (mouth

and nose) made me feel like I was suffocating and the nasal only one

still had me up gasping and gulping for air (btw, I stopped breathing

over 100x in the course of a few hours...lol). Anyhow, the nasal

pillows take a little bit getting used to - they fit in your nostrils

(I needed specially ordered petite size....ROFLMBO....) but so far, I

haven't had any nights that I've woken up and wanted to take it off -

one thing my doc did have to do was adjust my machine. Also, I'm on a

bi-pap machine vs a cpap. A bi-pap machine has full air but drops for

exhalations (which of course, if you can't exhale you wake up

gasping, etc. etc.). That may be an avenue for you to explore.
