Are you saying that synthetic hormones contribute to this?Hi Pam, In my case, they did! The synthetic progestins can block estrogen and testosterone receptors in the vulvar skin and lead to vulvar pain. I took the pill in my teens for Endometriosis and then I developed vestibulodynia. There are studies that suggested or stated that women who use oral contraceptives at a young age are 7 to 9 nines more likely to develop vulvar pain, particularly vestibulitis (or the new term - vestibulodynia). I've decided I will not ever use synthetic hormones again. I only use bio-identical. I hope this helps! Take Care,ChellePS - Welcome to the group!
