Guest guest
I know b-12 is a vita shot, and my friend in Ca got it monthly for yrs. But when I started experiencing what I now know are fibro symtoms, I had inquired through my physician if I could be purt on it to see if it would help with fatigue etc. he turned me down. Since then I have asked again, and am in Mass. and the Drl refused also saying it can be harmvull unless they were to find in my labs something pointing to I needed it, they will not give it. I have heard it worked wonders on some who have used, but also know even thought it is a vitaman they can cause serious conditions also. ???? It may have to do with some of my other meds I am on, my thyroid condition, history of blood clots, I just know I can't get it. Thanks for the info though. MY MOM GOES EVERY WEEK IF NOT TO THERAPY REVERSE FLO, TO Y POOL TO SWIM EVERY DAY IF SHE MISSES SHE KNOWS IT! I USED HOT TUB AND DID HELP WITH PAIN. I HAVE ASKED ABOUT B12 AND SO FAR HAVE BEEN REFUSED I WAS TOLD IT CAN BE HARMFULL ALSO. AS FOR CYMBALTA MED. IF THE POOL WORKS THAT IS GOOD, BUT I WAS TRIED WITH IT, NOT FOR DEPRESSION AS THAT IS PROBABLY THE 1 THING I DON'T HAVE, BUT THEY USE THESE MEDS ALSO TO TRY AND BLOCK PAIN. I WAS PUT ON ALL OF THEM TO MANY SIDE EFFECTS. GOOD HOPE TO ALL THAT ARE ABLE TO USE WATER EXERCISE, I REALLY WISH I COULD FIND A PLACE TO TRY IT AS I AM SICK OF DAILY MEDS. I end up having a lot of fatigue afterwards but I can spend hours moving around and I enjoy being able to play with my nieces, nephews and grandchildren in the pool. I hope I can get a pool after I get my disability. If I can't get my medical to help I knowI'll be able to use it as a medical deduction as several of my drs want me in the pool. I also want a hot tub and a walk in tub. Ah the warm water theme!! Guest guest
For most people B12 is not toxic. I believe the body just flushes out what it doesn't need. Some of you nurse people correct me if I'm wrong. Jeanne in WI I know b-12 is a vita shot, and my friend in Ca got it monthly for yrs. Guest guest
The doctor may be one of those who questions the use of cyanocobalamin - the most common form of B-12 administered by MD's. Studies have been conducted that say it is metabolized into harmful cyanides. Cyanocobalamin must be converted by the body into B-12 before it can be absorbed. Proponents of the harmful cyanides theory usually endorse taking a more natural form of B-12, methylcobalamin which is not supposed to metabolize into the harmful stuff. When I was in nursing I had many patients who received routine doses of cyanocobalamin. I've even given it to several of my family members on a gradually decreasing basis: Every day for 3 days, every other day for 6 days, once a week for 3 months. I've had patients who had taken it routinely for years with no side effects. We were taught that anything other than the injectable or sublingual (under-the tongue) forms were useless, because B-12 would break down and become useless in the presence of gastric enzymes and acids, and that there was no cumulative effect, or problem with a toxic build-up of B-12. So, I've been puzzled lately as to whether that information was wrong, or whether a new, more stable form had been created, or whether vitamin manufacturers were putting B-12 in supplements just to make a sale, knowing it would never get absorbed. I think it's the latter. in Louisiana > For most people B12 is not toxic. I believe the body just flushes out > what it doesn't need.
