Is there any procedure out there that allows the doctors see what is under skin

Hi,

I have another question for all of you. I have like a small lump on the

right side by my clitoral hood. It is

small and when you press you don't feel anything hard just looks like

bulge. The doctors I have seen say it is nothing but to me it is very

important to have it check. It is under the skin or in the skin and I

don't know what kind of doctor would be good for that gyno? Uro? Is

there any procedure out there that allows the doctors see what is

under/in the skin? If so how is it called? Thanks

Hi Barb, A uro/gyn 'might' be able to help, but more than anyone else, I would think a dermatologist could help you. You could check with the NVA and see if there are any dermatologists in your state that specialize in vulvar pain. You could also call some derms offices and ask to speak with the nurse and see if they could help you. If you aren't a member of the NVA, then maybe someone who is in your state (and a member here) could tell you of the specialists in your area. If you suspect that this area is the main culprit in your pain, then make sure you keep searching until someone takes you seriously.
