Guest guest
when I urinate, and the urine touches the skin it burns. Those that are doing pt, do you know if this could be the result of pelvic muscle spasms? I had thought for the longest time that the pain was coming from my urethra and thought the tight pelvic muscles could cause that type of pain. But the urine actually burning the skin when it touches it, I am not sure if that could be caused by pelvic floor dysfunction?? Guest guest
I used to have that problem and tried Aquaphor ointment. It helped. Some of the women use a squirt bottle to rinse themselves off with. It used to be so bad for me I could not wear pants of any kind. It lasted for years. Since doing energy work I'm 99% better. Most of my stuff now is just post meno and sex, or jeans, nor anything else really bothers me. Lona www.ClearPointTherapy.com > > when I urinate, and the urine touches the skin it burns. Guest guest
I used to have a lot of burning of the skin when I would pee, too. It went on for years. For me, it was hormones, and lack of estrogen. Of course tight pelvic floor muscles can cause urinary symptoms, too. Still, though, it very well could be something with the skin. Are you still using the cream with the combo meds? Chelle
Guest guest
Have you tried the low oxalate diet? Oxalates in urine can irritate the skin. I went on the low-oxalate diet early in my vulvodynia saga and it really helped. Now I can eat oxalate containing foods if I do not do it every day but I still have trouble with some foods. Guest guest
Hi Chelle yes I am. Im so confused with this urination symptom. Sometimes I think I should go get tested for ic. I never heard that pelvic muscle spasms could cause this symptom? so I wonder why the first doctor I saw just recommended pt alone without addressing this issue. Guest guest
'Cause most doctors are IGNORANT! ;-) You 'could' get tested for IC, but in all honesty, it won't really tell you anything. Just another diagnosis that they do not know anything about! Just a label, really. That stupid hydrodistension put me in 'more' pain (along with the DMSO cocktail the doc used). If you still have a leg shorter than the other...I would start there in terms of treatment. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have your pelvis stabilized! Guest guest
It could be because of high oxalates in your urine too. You may want to look into going on a low oxalate diet which will reduce the oxalates in your urine and hopefully decrease the burning. Taking calcium citrate supplements after each meal may also help. Here is a good start: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en & q=low+oxalate+diet & aq=1 & oq=low+ox Are you taking a multi-disciplinary approach to your therapy? By that I mean, pt, diet, meds? when I urinate, and the urine touches the skin it burns. Those that are doing pt, do you know if this could be the result of pelvic muscle spasms? Guest guest
I could always eat what I wanted and all of the sudden, with no explanation, I had problems. You have to do the dietfor a little while befor you notice the difference. Also, my doc says that diet alone will not do it and that it is just one component of the therapy. > thank you for the low oxalate info, I am trying to watch those, but > wondering why I need to now- as I didn't have this issue before? > > C > **************Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and > favorite sites in one place.
