Guest guest
There are two National associations. I get the newsletter from The National Fibromyalgia Awareness group. They have various size exercise balls in there store, an enameled pin --- which I have, their purple bands are different than the ones the other organization has --- of course the price is higher --- 5 for $15.00 -- I thought I had thrown more in the bag of Christmas things I took for my great nieces, but somehow didn't have enough. I also have their heartshape pillow that is filled with flaxseed and has lavender and another herb in it. I think they may also be the ones who publish the quarterly magazine (it's expensive a single issue is $10 or more. But I would suggest everyone check that group as well as the other one. One of them also asks fibromites to write their story and it will be included in one of the issues online -- they don't stay up long, but mine was accepted at least 2 years ago. Oh, and National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is May 12th, which, knowing the calender, must be Mother's day. As for a place to push for more public exposure, I would say that one of the morning tv shows might be better to start with than Ophra. Since the adds are out there, one who think getting the exposure on a morning show, which may reach a broader base than an after noon show that is more aimed at women might be a better choice. I was going to say that they had pulled the ads for Lyrica, but it's for Chantix the smoking cessation product --- there is one small law firm recruiting patients who had problems with the medicine (supposedly) now the Chantix ad doesn't use Chantix in the ad and says call something like get quit now which I think is a good way to avoid the newest drug for what we used to call " ambulance chasers " lawyers. And since I did take the med but stop after a reaction --- which the research department of the pharma company had affected 1% of the study groups --- I am planning to go back on it, just take one a day as that was really making a big difference. But I do suggest all of you take a look at the National Fibromyalgia Awareness website!!! They don't seem to offer supplements, etc. Many of which, I personally do not think worked for me and when my husband and I were talking about the coral product that is supposedly " new coral from Japan " he pointed out that harvesting coral is one of those items on the listed of worldwide banned list.
