Oh my IBS is HORRIBLE some days! I cramp so bad before having to run to the

bathroom that I feel like I am gong to pass out. UGH!!

isn't iron. All of these vitamins & minerals have many confusing

names, along with their many different forms. Supplement wise - you

sometimes have to do a little Googling to see which form is the best, most

absorbable, better on your stomach and intestines, etc. For instance,

magnesium is one of those things I have to be careful about or I will be

running to the bathroom ALL THE TIME. Like we don't already have that

problem with us Fibromites having such a habit of having IBS, just add the

active ingredient that makes Milk of Magnesia do it's thing and it's like

Camptown Races around here.

Who can't believe she just used GOOGLE as a verb. (May have to rebel and

start using Dogpile again)

My sis has the fast moving IBS like that. Several years ago our

grandmother was near death and moved into hospice, so sister flew down

to be with the family. She is phobic of flying, but pregnant at the

time so she couldn't take xanax. Also her first son was six months old

so she wanted to stay alert for him.

She got through the flight with no major ibs attack, then we drove out

to be with family, visited our grandmother, then went out to eat with

our Mom, then and only THEN did her ibs kick in. This was while on the

road headed back to the hosue, and we were stuck at an intersection and

she was in so much pain. Finally we made it to a place she could stop

and when she finally came back out to the car, she said " OMG you guys,

that pain was so bad I thought I was going to have a miscarriage. "

I'm opposite of her, mine is more 'slow moving' and I have to eat things

with fiber every day to stay regular. But then if I get an attack, I

tend to spend hours just sitting and yes I'll go a lot but it just seems

to take longer to be 'finished.'

I hate ibs. Hate it!

My worst experience was 10 minutes after exiting an IHOP. I should have

hung around and read a paper or something. Two blocks down the road I was

screeching into a gas station parking lot on 2 wheels, RUNNING inside, and

crapping on myself every step. Two ladies manning the registers gave me

some looks after I spent almost an hour in their bathroom washing me and my

clothes in the sink and cleaning up the bathroom after myself. Thank God it

was one of those 1 person bathrooms, and a clean one at that. I was more

than an hour from home. Anyway, when I'm out and about I've become VERY

careful about what I eat. Under NO circumstances do I mix diet Coke and ice

cream. Under NO circumstances do I eat pancakes, waffles, or ANYTHING with

syrup. There are many more no-no's....these are just the two that will

guarantee an IHOP-esque reccurence.

Who can't believe she just told this on herself.

I have to eat small, frequent meals all day long rather than three big

ones. Filling myself up can sometimes trigger an episode. I had an

'episode' around Christmas at a family thing, and kept having to 'go.'

So embarrassing! Usually when I'm at home I'll just get some reading

material and stay put til I'm done, but that can be two hours. At my

family thing, I'd go for a bit, then come out and try to spend some time

with family but then I kept having to 'go.' Mom kept asking me to play

dominoes with them but I said no I'll just watch, because I knew I would

need to keep excusing myself. All because of all the yummy rich foods

we ate. And the stress from a friend's daughter in the hospital.

Oh and another story about my sister's ibs, this time it saved her

life. She and family just moved from Denver CO to SLC Utah a few weeks

ago. Well over Christmas weekend they drove out to SLC to find a house

and it was her and hubby, plus the two boys who are one and two. It was

blizzard conditions all around, and they had to drive slow. They kept

passing this yellow car, she remembers, because then they'd have to stop

at all the rest stops because of her ibs. Then they'd get back on the

highway and pass that yellow car again, then have to stop. And that

process kept repeating itself. After her final stop, they heard on the

CB that an accident happened just down the highway. Apparently an 18

wheeler landed on that yellow car and the whole family inside it was

killed. :( The highway was shut down, sis and family had to stop

somewhere and stay overnight. But I joked with her that her ibs seems

to have saved her life that day. Very sad about that one family though. :(

Sometimes mine is fast moving and sometimes not. I could CRAMP SO BAD and still

have a few mins to spare.then there are times where I HAVE TO GO RIGHT NOW! I

hate the horrible cramps with it! I got dizzy sitting on the commode one day

because the cramps were so bad. I hate IBS so much! I love love love broccoli

but if I eat it,I am going to be hurting for certain. I really need to take

fiber daily so it will help the IBS. I also found out that the doctor gives you

antidepressants for IBS. I REFUSE TO TAKE IT! LOL,I refuse to take any meds so

what am I talking about,lol
