I am having itching, burning, dry, almost a puffy in places batch of

symptoms. Can anyone give me any suggestions to get some relief?

Maybe someone can tell me too if when they get aroused if the

consistency of the produced lubricant is different than it used to be?

It is something I have been wondering about. I used to have normal

slippery type lubricant but now it is clear, thick, sticky, and almost

rubbery like or stringy sort of. I'm sorry it's gross but I don't know

who to ask.

I wonder if it isn't histamine. Often with chronic pain we release histamine, which is typically white and sort of cheesey. It is often mistaken for yeast. This is why we are sometimes misdiagnosed with a yeast infection. It is also why some of us get relief from antihistamines.

You should try Crisco. It protects and soothes the skin and acts as a barrier against your own discharge that mat irritate the skin. I know it sounds odd and I was skeptical at first but now it is the first thing I tey during a flare up.

I've heard of Criso but haven't tried it. I don't have any in the

house or I'd be trying it. I'm thinking of buying a lubricant maybe

slippery stuff to try too. I'm not sure if it's the best one to get

though. I have a spot right now that is really red and it is

alternating between itching and burning and it is miserable.

I love Crisco. But, use the white stuff that you would fry a chicken in not the oil.

R. - have you been checked good for infections? I know it sounds so basic, and yet sometimes docs aren't no where near as thorough as they should be with cultures and all. Some of the gals have had uncommon strains of yeast. Maybe some of them will chime in. There are a few things that can cause itching. Here goes: yeast infections, lack of hormones, tight pelvic floor muscles and cytolytic vaginosis. It's where there is actually too much good bacteria in the vaginal flora and it can definitely cause itching. You can usually see a pattern with the cycles. I hope things go well with the new doc! hang in there!ChelleSubject: symptoms? To: VulvarDisorders Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 8:11 PMI am having itching, burning, dry, almost a puffy in places batch of symptoms. All I know is they took two cultures and told me they were negative

for yeast and bacteria infection. I think they were grown for a few

days. I'm not sure what exactly they tested for. I'm going to try to

remember to ask when I go back because he should have my medical

reconds. I feel like I'd like more testing done.

I am having the same kind of symptoms at the moment, dry, burning and

very slight itch but with no discharge. went and sore my doc and she

thinks its possible thrush and not a flare at all, i personally have

never had thrush so wasnt sure what to look for and assumed there was

ment to be a discharge. Anyway just waiting on the results and

keeping my fingers crossed that this is all it is. Maybe its is the

same with you?? never any harm in getting it checked out..

i also had my doc prescribe me some lignocaine, tis sposed to be very

good for making u nice and numb hehe (hopefully not the oposite and

irritate) and gonna try candula cream as a barrier angainst anything

along with upping my dose of amnitrip slightly in the hope that it

takes away these nasty flares.

I have had thrush in the past without a discharge. Most of the time there is one. Usually, when I have the symptoms you describe it's Bacterial Vaginosis. Do you have an odor?

no odor either, hmmmm i just read about it and seems we dont always

get set reactions to BV either, i spose i will find out when i get my

results.

just a quick note that the lignocaine lasted a good while, fell asleep

feeling more comfy than i have in a long time, and this morning when i

woke feeling a little uncomfy but nothing major. Coincidence???

Prolly but hey at least i feel refreshed this morning and mpre

confident about the day ahead.

I still use Lidocaine from time to time, especially when I'm flaring. I've used it several times a day, but only a small amount. I hope it continues to help you. There is even a treatment of using Lidocaine on a cotton ball and sleeping with it against the vestibule. I've tried it before, but cannot use it like for more than a few nights. I'll try to locate the study - maybe it's something you could talk to your doctor about.
