Guest guest
Hi Debbie! All right, Letter Lady, what are ToF, PA, and RBBB? I'm Sara, wife to Matt, stay at home mom to and Gabe, and due with 'Punkin' in late May. was 3 in September and has autism, pica (eating non-food items), SIB (self-injurious behavior), and probably ADHD. One of his IEP goals is to sit still for 3 minutes, if that tells you anything about his activity level, LOL. We were supposed to have him re-evaluated in January and I expect when we get around to that we'll officially add that dx. Oh yes and he's hyperlexic, which basically means he can count and read and spell but he can't talk. www.hyperlexia.org if you want to know more. Gabe is 20 months. He has a speech delay & is about 6 months behind in expressive & receptive language. Just started ST for him last week. He has been having episodes which we think are seizures since just before Christmas. Have done 2 EEGs and are waiting for a neuro appt. Personally I am convinced he has epilepsy and I'm becoming convinced he'll need to go on meds to control that; he's been having 2-3 very small seizures every few days and I know there are more that I'm missing. If you're not looking right at his face when they happen you would not see them. 'Punkin' seems to be coming along splendidly, and this is by far my easiest pregnancy. I knew was autistic for at least a month before we got our dx, and it came as a releif to me that we had gotten that taken care of and could finally move on and start getting him some help. It was also wonderful to hear that there really was something going on with him and I was NOT just a bad mother who couldn't teach her child to listen! But yes, there was that twinge of, oh God this is for real...can we just pretend that didn't happen?? And I've had that same feeling watching Gabe with his seizures...I know what I'm seeing, I know he's not in any immediate danger, but please God, let's just say that didn't happen OK? Well anyway, this is WAY too long so I will quit now. -Sara.
Guest guest
A new Debbie! Welcome! I suggest you might use an initial or give yourself a nickname because there are a few more here I think. (I still keep getting a little confused between the two that are Debbi's - there are two that spell it with just Debbi right?) It sounds like you have had your ups and downs already in your journey through parenthood. How is Evan's heart condition now? Is it over with so to speak or will he face more surgery? You'll love it here if you can get used to the fast pace and the zillions of e-mails. These people are so wonderful. ~ Karin in Texas, married to Gino, Mom to Jake (6/8/99 - ASD) BTW, your hubby's name is a new one! Is it a nickname or short for something else? Guest guest
Hello, I am new to this group, but am in another group. I just thought that the more support the better. My name is and I live in Houston, Texas. I am 33 and i have 2 children boy 10 and girl almost 6. I had my TL after having my daughter in Sept 1997, and i am having my TR July 17th. Luckily my insurance is paying for it 100%, and if for some reason it does not work then they will pay for IVF. My fiancee is in the army and stationed right now in Georgia, just getting back from Korea, so we dont get to see each other as much as we like right now. It is hard, but we are managing. That is really it about me, I just wanted to give you a brief intro. contichick2002 wrote: Hi ladies! Just wondering if anyone was from Kentucky? I see posts from Texas, Indiana, and Alabama, but no one from close to home. I am glad to know that you guys are out there, no matter where you live, it feels like you are right here. Guest guest
Hi, I just joined this group. I was told I have Fibromyalgia in 1992 but I'm sure I had it way before then. I'm 57 yrs old, female and divorced. I have two grown sons & 4 grandchildren but they live in another state. My closest companion is my little sheltie I call HoneyBear. I have many things wrong with me other than FMS. I also have been told I have CFS and RSD. I have DDD and have had 3 cervical & 2 lumbar surgeries. I have a pain pump implanted into my abdomen. I'm sure it helps but I am still in a great deal of pain daily. Some days are worse than others of course. I also can not stand up straight. I started stooping about 5 yrs ago and now it is almost impossible for me to even walk. I either use a rollator or a power chair. No doctor has been able to explain why I can't stand up straight. I don't have osteoporosis, so just don't know what is going on. I sold my house last March and moved into a senior complex and there are 3 other ladies here who are in the same condition. I was wondering if any of you are that way and if so if you have been told by a doctor why? Also, does anybody here take Lyrica? I think that is the name of the new miracle drug, right? Does it really help? Hope to get to know many of you. Gentle hugs to all. BJ in AR
Guest guest
BJ, Welcome to the group! I'm a relative newbie, both to the group and to the disease itself (got dx'd 1/18/08....lol). Could your inability to stand up straight be related to the degenerative disk disease? Your body has possibly acclimated itself around the painful areas, causing you to stoop. Just a thought. I am taking Lyrica. I am up to 2 150 mgs per day and it seems to be working okay. The first 2 weeks were on the lower dose of 75 mg to see if I would tolerate it okay - I was what they call " punch " drunk and had my DH drive, but now I can drive without any issues or problems. I haven't had too many days of breakthrough pain, but when I push, I do and have several things I can take depending on if I can figure out if it is inflammation setting in (I swell due to the steroids for asthma), actual muscle spasms trying to incapitate me, or pain..... I have never ever heard of a pain pump in the stomach, although I know my aunt has something in her upper arm for pain (cancer). Guess it is the same principle, huh? You'll enjoy the group. We have our days, of course, when everyone is flaring a little bit, but for the most part, since we understand what we are going through, well, we give lots and lots of grace. And I have 4 4 leggers total (3 dogs, 1 cat), 4 kids (2 grown and gone, 2 recently adopted with my last DH), 6 grands (adding in all the steps....lol).....and am going to be 45 in a few weeks. I try to nap during the day before my younger 2 come home; it helps keep my stress level down and of course, I can deal with the kids. I also crochet for stress relief (you wouldn't BELIEVE what I already have done for Christmas and birthdays for this year....lol). Right now I'm on medical disability, fighting for SSD (like a lot on here). I'm okay if that happens; DH's income will more than make up for my shortfall and quite honestly, with 2 kids in daycare, I really wouldn't make that much any how..... Anyhow, glad to meet you! Look forward to getting to know you better. (((gentle hugs))) Darlene (in Georgia) > > Hi, > I just joined this group.
