Guest guest
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a long time because my life lately has been messy to put it mildly. I have had a lot of stress and of course my Fibro has been acting up very badly because of all I have going on. I had been doing pretty well in the last two years with my pain levels, I still had pain everyday but I was able to tolerate it without a lot of medications until two months ago when all this stress came into my life. I finally had to go see my doctor to get on some medication to help me tolerate it all. My doc put me on Amitriptylin at night, at first I was on 50mg, then she upped it to 75mg. She also put me on Vicoden 750mg as needed. Well, the Amitriptylin is helping me sleep once I fall asleep but the Vicoden as usual wasn't helping me. She sent me to a Pain Management Clinic to see if maybe they had some other suggestions. The nurse practitioner that I talked to there suggested that my Amitriptylin be upped to 100mg at night because I had tried Lyrica a while back and it made me very dizzy so I stopped taking it. She also wants me to have a Lidocaine Infusion done. Finally my question- Has anyone ever had this done, and does it help? Sorry this is so long but i figured I better give you a little background. I hope everyone is doing as well as possible and i appreciate any imput you can give me. Gentle hugs to everyone! Thanks, Vicki G.
Guest guest
Hi Vicki, I am not of sure of the term Lidocaine Infusion, but I have had trigger point injections with B12 and lidocane done. They have been a life saver with me. I don't post much due to the fact I have severe FM and quite frankly some days its hard to get through the day even on meds. But for around 3 weeks after the injections I have to admit the pain levels are down and I probably over do it because I am behind on everything. I have learned the hard way to, at the very least, try something new. Teri > > Hi everyone, > > I haven't posted in a long time because my life lately has been > messy to put it mildly. Guest guest
Thank you for the reply Tami, much appreciated! I was told that I will be given an IV and then the put the Lidocaine in me through the IV. I will know more about it as soon as I get the packet in the mail. Gentle hugs to all, Vicki *** " It is said that God never gives us more than we can handle. If that is true then God sure must have a much higher opinion of me than I do!
