Guest guest
I try and behave myself and not drink the diet soda. But the diet dr pepper stares at me in the cooler saying " DRINK ME! YOU KNOW I TASTE GOOD! " LOLOL We do not even buy sodas in our house. at work all we have to drink is sodas. Now they have finally put bottles of water in the cooler so I am going to stick to that now. Oh yeah,we did get raspberry ice tea a couple weeks ago.Its good but not everyday drinking kinda stuff. Melody wrote: My Mom always says, " everything in moderation. " I only drink sodas on weekends so I figure that's not too bad. Two times a week is actually not bad at all. My hubbies boss drinks six and maybe more diet cokes every day, and that's not for me to judge, I'm just saying we all need a little indulgence now and then. I tend to feel guilty if I have a soda or cheetos during the week since my new years resolution was weekends only for some of my favorite junk food. I think feeling guilty would be worse for me than cheetos or a soda, LOL but that's just me. wrote: > I have heard a similiar story. Guest guest
I am trying to give up High Fructose Corn Syrup, but darnit, it's in EVERYTHING! Including my poptarts which I refuse to give up. Our local Walmart sells the Dublin dr peppers - made with sugar and not h.f.c.s., but also they sell those sodas that use sugar. I got some of the jones soda root beers and I'll have one on the weekends. I didn't drink hardly any sodas this weekend, just a few sips of a cream soda. I usually love any type of Dr Pepper during " women's week " and I don't care if it has h.f.c.s during that week LOL! wrote: > I try and behave myself and not drink the diet soda. But the diet dr pepper stares at me in the cooler saying " DRINK ME! I don't know why, but the pop-tarts made me laugh! I guess I have this image of Melody standing with a sword and a fierce expression, defending her box of pop-tarts! ;D ;D I remember when Coca-Cola put sugar syrup in the soda. It tasted better. When they changed to corn syrup, I stopped liking it. When I was in the hospital for my knee replacements and hernia surgery, after I'd lost significant weight and because I'm no longer diabetic, I was on a " regular " diet. I was shocked at how much sugar is in the " regular " diet. I really had to pick and choose to keep the amount of sugar down. I remember thinking, " No wonder the population is obese, if this is how " regular " people eat! Even though I'm no longer diabetic, I don't feel well when I eat sugar or carbs except in the context of a meal with protein. So I still have to watch it. Guest guest
Yep that's me! Especially if it's " women's week " and anyone tries to get between me and my chocolate chip poptarts. > I don't know why, but the pop-tarts made me laugh! Guest guest
I have really wanted to cut my sweets and sugar but haven't had much luck. I know I'll feel better, it's just hard to make that change. I'll get there one of these days though. But sheesh, we just got girl scout cookies and I bought some half priced valentine candy, and omg yummy. I sometimes think I have a serious sugar addiction. > I don't know why, but the pop-tarts made me laugh! Guest guest
, I know what you mean. I am astonished, as a T2 diabetic, just how much sugar is in stuff! I am on a carb counting diet (vs calories, thank heavens) that is working well for me. I buffed up my fiber (veggies and fruits) and am driving my hubby nuts because I get the specific packaged items vs a big bag (so I don't have to worry about going over). He is too cost-efficient sometimes for me. I am finding if I can keep it (the diabetes) in check and my A1C is saying I am, that I feel better. I also feel better if I take a 1-2 hr nap every day. Go figure! Darlene P.S. Yes, I miss my pop-tarts too but that would send me into sugar overload! > > > I am trying to give up High Fructose Corn Syrup, but darnit, it's in > > EVERYTHING!
