I am writing to share with you an extraordinary event that is about to come to South Florida ! The Dan Marino Foundation has teamed up with five South Florida autism organizations to create the 1st Annual Dan Marino Foundation WalkAbout Autism, benefiting the Autism Societies of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties , UM-NSU CARD (Center for Autism & Related Disabilities), FAU CARD, and the Dan Marino Foundation. This exciting and unique event will take place on Saturday, January 29th, 2011 from 10 am to 2 pm at the home of the Miami Dolphins, Sun Life Stadium. All proceeds raised through this event stay in our community and benefit local autism services and programs. Participating schools in South Florida will receive back 25% of the money raised by their teams to support special needs programming in their school. As long as I have been active in the autism community of South Florida , I have never seen an event more worthy of supporting. The committee that has put this together is truly caring, collaborative and selfless. Their hard work and dedication will benefit MANY of those living with autism right here in our own backyard. Please check out the newly created website at www.dmfwalkaboutautism.org. Teams are easy to register and information is easily accessible. Looking forward to seeing you all there, Stacey Stacey HoaglundAutism Society Broward Money Raised Here, Stays Here!
