Guest guest
Hi, Ora. In the early days of my VV, I printed out and read your story and how you helped yourself. I highlighted areas on your document and used some of them to at least ease the external pain. I too have been on the low-ox diet about 3-4 months. How long before you felt much better? I feel some better, but was wondering how long you had to go through hell to get to a manageable point. Any tips you can pass along? From all who have recovered or gone into remission, they all say it takes a long time and I do believe it does. Naturally, being human, I want relief NOW..... >not sure why they did not include greens in this article> >_http://www.seekwell ness.com/ incontinence/ oxalate_diet. pdf_ >(http://www.seekwell ness.com/ incontinence/ oxalate_diet. pdf) >*********** ***Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and >favorite sites in one place. Guest guest
I have been on the diet off and on for the past ten years or so and at this point I can eat many high and medium foods with no problem if I do not eat them every day. But some foods give me a flare immediately like black papper (I can eat red pepper-cayenne with no problem) I went zero-oxalate for a few days when I first started and immediately felt total relief. I gradually added foods containing low oxalate to see which ones I could eat without pain. If it resulted in pain I did not eat any more of that. My pain was pretty bad and when I found what foods were causing it I just avoided them from the starting point. Over the ten years since then I have learned that if I eat any high-oxalate foods one day and not the next few days that I can remain pain-free. Also I have learned that some foods will cause pain immediately like black pepper. Fortunately I can eat red pepper (cayenne). My flares are not very bad and they go away after a few hours in most cases. In the beginning it was pain 24/7 and I had to quit my job because I could not sit for any length of time. The foods that I have to watch are: cinnamon, celery, cucumber, black pepper, oatmeal, onions, citric acid, corn meal,corn,bran-(all grains). But I can put ground celery seeds in soups and it does not bother me. Ora On Fri, 12 Dec 2008 12:26:04 -0800 (PST), Beth franklincompany@...> wrote: >Hi, Ora.
