Guest guest
I was in PT before for neck, upper back and shoulder pain. My pt used what is called primal reflex release on me. I believe it works. So anyway I've been thinking off and on if she's had any experience with any type of vulvar pain and the therapy of if she has any ideas. I'm so embarassed to ask though. If it were anywhere else I'd run there already but OMG I feel well it's just not an area I like to ask people to help me with. Has anyone here heard of the treatment or had it used on them? Guest guest
PLEASE do go and ask for help. ASK for her ideas. I am sure they are sensitive to your embarassment and have your best interest in mind. HAVE you ever had a massage? Then you know that they are very aware of covering your body while giving the massage and will do everything to keep you comfortable when treating you if they offer this treatment! If I could afford it, I would RUN ...and get answers! hope you can mentally consider this and treat asking questions of the PT just as you ask of your doctor. hugs, ML <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<,,,, Subject: I've been thinking about this... Guest guest
I may try to figure out how to approach the subject. Guest guest
Try what you wrote: " I have been thinking about this and really do not know how to start the conversation! Have you ahad any experience with any type of vulvar pain and the therapy of or do you have anyi ideas. I'm so embarassed to ask though. " These are YOUR words so they should be easy for you to say them in a " private " conversation. How about over the phone?? That way you don't have to look her in the face??? LoVE ...you GO, Girl!! ml I've been thinking about this... > > > I was in PT before for neck, upper back and shoulder pain. My pt used > what is called primal reflex release on me. Guest guest
i too go to a PT for my neck for 2 years. my girl is great. when my dr said to go for pelvic floor therapy i called her to help me find someone. she knew exactly what they where talking about. she was a big help. so just go talk to your PT and don't be embarrassed, any help you can get with this vulva thing is a step closer to getting better. good luck.laura "I have been thinking about this and really do not know how to start the conversation! Guest guest
Where do you live? Maybe the girls on happypelvis can help you find a good PT. You can't go to just any pelvic pain PT, they have to be proven to be a good one. love, Molly To: VulvarDisorders Sent: Sunday, December 14, 2008 6:37:35 PMSubject: RE: I've been thinking about this... i too go to a PT for my neck for 2 years. my girl is great. when my dr said to go for pelvic floor therapy i called her to help me find someone. she knew exactly what they where talking about. she was a big help. so just go talk to your PT and don't be embarrassed, any help you can get with this vulva thing is a step closer to getting better. good luck.laura"I have been thinking about this and really do not know how to start theconversation! Guest guest
Hi, I just say your post regarding pt for vulvar pain. I have went to three different people for this type of help. They are great but generally a general pt doesn't do womens health. You will want to find a pt who specializes in womens health. To me personally the first appointment is embarassing, but after that it is much easier. My own experience was wonderful. The women who do this know what they are doing (for the most part). Usually you are covered and they just do their job. two of my pts did mainly internal massage. They would just put their hand under the sheet and face away. They would only look at the beginning. Hope this helps. Kara > > PLEASE do go and ask for help. ASK for her ideas. I am sure they are > sensitive to your embarassment and have your best interest in mind. HAVE > you ever had a massage? Guest guest
Where do you live? Please email the girls at www.pelvicpainrehab.com and see if they've trained anyone in your area. If you can possibly afford it, go to San Francisco to see them. That's what I did and I was able to learn what proper PT is and I came home and did self and husband PT for a year. It was not an easy road, but I am now well. love, Molly To: VulvarDisorders Sent: Monday, December 15, 2008 1:30:22 AMSubject: Re: I've been thinking about this...
