Guest guest
A lot of fast moving IBS is brought on by stress, or stress adds to it. That is why some docs prescribe the anti-d's. You may say, " i'm not depressed. " And maybe that's true. But balancing out the seratonin in your brain can make it easier to deal with stress, thus easing some of your IBS symtoms. Not saying you HAVE to take them, just explaining why they might be prescribed. Jeanne in WI Sometimes mine is fast moving and sometimes not. I could CRAMP SO BAD and still have a few mins to spare.then there are times where I HAVE TO GO RIGHT NOW! I hate the horrible cramps with it! I got dizzy sitting on the commode one day because the cramps were so bad. I hate IBS so much! I love love love broccoli but if I eat it,I am going to be hurting for certain. I really need to take fiber daily so it will help the IBS. I also found out that the doctor gives you antidepressants for IBS. I REFUSE TO TAKE IT! LOL,I refuse to take any meds so what am I talking about, lol
Guest guest
If you have fibromyalgia and IBS you ARE stressed! How could you not be? Your life is a continuous whirlwind of chronic pain, doctors visits, and a loss of joy of the life you once had. Most of us have lost friends, significant others, jobs etc... And, we sit at home all day thinking we are NOT stressed. Of course we are!!!!! If you were not stressed and your life were perfect you would not be here in the group listening and asking advice. I don't take antidepressants because they don't agree with me - and though I may tell myself I'm not depressed, I have to be reminded that I really am due to my circumstances. Just my thoughts on this.... mncjl > > A lot of fast moving IBS is brought on by stress, or stress adds to it. That is why some docs prescribe the anti-d's. You may say, " i'm not depressed. Guest guest
Thanks for writing that Marti! I thought I was being a little strong on and felt bad about what I wrote. However, You are absolutely right in everything you said below. I'm pretty much in the same situation as you. The last time I went out for coffee with friends was in 1999! The only times I go out are to go to the doctor's office and I suffer greatly from car ride to appointment. I like you Marti have many things going on. Interstitial cystitis, fibromyalgia, IBS (of course), erythromelalgia (neuropathy and burning of extremities), burning mouth syndrome, chronic sore throat, chronic fatigue, DDD, severe migraines, spinal stenosis, and much more. A support group is for people like us! I hope this message subject line isn't getting confusing; somewhere along the line it was changed to include my name - again, I'm mncjl. is the stress-free lady with no problems! Again, MNCJL is needing support in every day in every way by this group! I thank you all for being here when I need you. MNCJL If you have fibromyalgia and IBS you ARE stressed!
