Guest guest
My son is 13 years old with Aspergers, who is high functioning but with behavioral problems. Is anyone familiar with Whispering Pines in Broward? A therapist recently mentioned this school and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on whether this school is more a school for EBD students or if it really can accomodate ASD students. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
Guest guest
Hello Danette, My daughter has been going to Whispering Pines since we moved from New York 2 years ago. also has behavioral problems also with ASD/Aspergers. has progressed immensely since attending Whispering Pines, she will be graduating next year. Her behavior has definitely improved with the help of the Whispering Pines staff. was evaluated at attending Whispering Pines the staff worked with me in order to get the appropriate services for . works with a therapits; she has a speech teacher and sees the school psychiatrist as well. I do recommend the school I was new to Broward so I really didn't know too many schools at the time. Whispering Pines was the appropriate setting for my daughter. She will be going into vocational rehab and will hopefully start the work process upon her graduation. I hope I have been of some help, I recommend that you speak to one of the ESE counslors for more information. The schools # (754)321-7650 you can ask to speak to Bonnie Kearns.
