Guest guest
I saw this in the TRN news and wanted to share it. Wish we had something like this in South Florida. It would be nice if Publix did something like this in their packging plants. They have their own brand, bakery and deli items, etc., and they could even do it with their floral items. This is what the article says: News from TRN Proctor & Gamble has opened a packaging facility this week in Auburn, Maine where at least 30 percent of employees will be people with physical or developmental disabilities. Employees will all earn the same wages and will be held to the same standards, company officials said. Proctor & Gamble executives decided to put a focus on hiring people with disabilities at the new packaging facility after seeing Walgreens' success with a similar program at two of its distribution centers. The company partnered with the Maine Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, and the center will eventually house a total of 60 employees working around the clock. >>> They will even make equal wages. I will look for Proctor and Gamble products to buy in the stores, since they are working to help the DD community. Glenda
