Good afternoon everyone,

I sent about 3 weeks ago an email on how transportation is a issue in our schools with Broward County. The issues was about the length of time the children are on the bus, children being put on the wrong bus, very hard to get in touch with them….also accommodation to ese children..while being on gen ed bus…etc

Tonight, Carolyn Germain -Coordinator for Transportation-ESE will be at the ESE Advisory meeting to talk about our concerns with transportation. Please make an effort to bring up your issues. We need your voice to make a difference. If you can’t attend the meeting…you can use the phone bridge.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thanks

Nathalie

  • 4 weeks later...

I called in and attended the meeting via my phone.. Yes, reps from transportation were there, but I don't think we will see much change. They admitted that kids are supposed to be no more than 45 minutes on the bus, but they are overwhelmed and seemingly unable to fix things. Did I hear them say that have only 4 people to answer their phones in the morning and yet 96000 kids on their busses?

Yes it is suppose to be 45 minutes as written on Florida educational policies and Broward is on non compliance. I know of kids spending two hours in the s daily.Sent from my iPadOmayra Matamoros, MHSA, JD
