Guest guest
I'm interested in any experiences people have had with practitioners of chinese-based medicine. I've had two separate people tell me now that they view PSC as " heat and damp " in the liver. This, they say holistically, is usually due to a fundamental weakness in the kidney/urinary system. Usually they recommend herbal for this, but I have avoided that or I think my Hepatologist would excommunicate me! I certainly experienced urinary system problems as a child, and frequently suffer from lower back pain around the region of the kidneys. I wonder whether this is just unique to me however? I've started drinking cranberry juice more regularly as it is known to be beneficial to the kidneys. Difficult to say if its had any effect this early. Incidentally I tried acupuncture for some relief from itching but didn't get any success, however I certainly became more aware of the muscular tension I always carry in my lower torso. Anyone got any other Chinese diagnoses or experiences to share? Guest guest
My Dad has had PSC for about 12 years at least diagnosed then. He saw a well known Chinese accupuncturist for a couple of years and also took the recommended teas/herbs but got too expensive. Every year his test come back with signs of advancement with the disease but very little. Could the accupunture be the reason, I think it has had a positive impact along with prayer. Hope this helps.
