Guest guest
I was there last year and there was no disability pass like Disney...you have to buy a fast pass which is extra to your ticket in order to get the short wait time. Does anyone know if Universal Studios is still offering a Disability Pass that allows shorter wait times to go on the rides and attractions there? I haven't been there for a while. Thanks. Guest guest
We have been there about 2 months ago and their poilcy changed a bit. You can get a pass but can only use it for rides that you child can go on, and if there is a long line on that ride, they might tell you to get back at another hour. About 4 months we got a pass to all rides, un limited.. > > Does anyone know if Universal Studios is still offering a Disability Pass that allows shorter wait times to go on the rides and attractions there? I haven't been there for a while. Thanks. >

Guest guest
You absolutely do not have to buy an express pass at Universal. I was there 2 weeks ago with a doctor's note and they gave us express passes. You should always keep the ones you get for the next time. Guest guest
I just had a horrible weekend at Universal. I went up, was told they legally cannot ask for or look at a doctors note and was given a red medical pass. Basically if it is a 30 min or less wait you go into the fast pass line, if it's over 30 min you get a return time to come back. The kicker is you cannot use the pass again anywhere else until it is validated at the ride you last used it for. Completely useless. We were given a return time of 25 minutes. Well, great, but what am I supposed to do for 25 minutes, widow shop? No thanks. This was coming on top of my husband being too large (both in height and width) to ride the new Harry Potter ride, which was the only reason we did Universal and not Disney tickets this year. I complained at customer service, as two years ago we were given complimentary fast passes (the ones you can purchase). I was apologized to and we chatted for a bit, and eventually wound up with 6 complimentary fast passes and one medical pass being attached to my ID, so I just have to stop by guest services every time we go and pick them up. Our third day was much nicer, we actually got to do things and I got a night without a whiney child who didn't get to go on the Simpsons ride because he couldn't make it through the line wait time. If you and your fam are open to Disney, I'd go there. There is more to do, they are set up better, and it's just a more pleasant experience all around IMO. Of course, we alternate season tickets every year and every year we get Universal I remind myself I swore I'd never do it again. YMMV -------Jenn 2 months ago we didnt need a note. we just said we have an autistic child and we got that pass. > > Yes you can still get a pass. Guest guest
We always have a bad experience at Universal regarding the passes. We were told to keep the passes from the year before to show them each time we go so that they can just issue new ones. They once questioned my son, which was a big joke. On the other hand, Disney and Sea World NEVER ask for anything, they just issue the guest assistance pass. At Sea World, my son is already in their database and it's automatically issued. At Disney we get a pass for 3 months at a time because we are passholders and they never ask anything. It's great! 2 months ago we didnt need a note. we just said we have an autistic child and we got that pass. > > Yes you can still get a pass. We live in Orlando and we go often and that has been my experience.Kim Glusky
Guest guest
I just came back from universal and they were so nice. I totally understand why they make us come back for rides that are over 30 min. because there are a lot of people that payed extra for their fast passes and the main issue is that we don't have to stand on te line with our children that can't handle lines. I have a problem with people who have "typical" kids with minor issues like "add" that take advantage of these disability passes. They don't understand what us parents of kids with real disabilities go through at these parks . I'm afraid when these parks will stop offering us services when they find out about these kind of peopleSent from my iPhone You absolutely do not have to buy an express pass at Universal. Guest guest
Yes, they have the pass. We took a copy of his IEP, but were not asked for it at either Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios. At Islands, they would just ask us to come back at whatever time the " wait time " indicated. We'd just walk around and ride other rides with a shorter wait until it was time to come back. At Universal, 95% of the time, as soon as we presented the pass so that they could tell us when to come back, they let us right in without any waiting The other place that has the disability pass is Wet n' Wild. They did ask us for documentation, so I was thankful I had the copy of the IEP in the car, where it will stay from now on, just in case!!!
