Guest guest
Hi: Thought I would post my culture results from two weeks ago that I just got today. I have the ususal Group B Strep, I have Candida Albicans (haven't had yeast in a long time) and a new one................Atopobium Vaginae. I goggled Atopobium Vaginae and read very briefly. It's a bacteria associated with BV in post menopausal woman. It is, according to the doctor non symptomatic and they don't treat it. Next month they will culture it again. I am always growing something. The good news is that I don't have Gardnerella. Sherri

Guest guest
Hi: Group B Strep is a bacteria that live in the vagina. In some woman it can overgrow, especially after using antibiotics. (which is what happened in my case) It usually is not treated unless the woman is pregnant or is symptomatic. The discharge resembles a yeast discharge. It is treated with Penicillan. I am allergic to Penicillan and have had it since 2006. My 19 year old daughter also has tested positive for it. When the time comes for her to have a child we will monitor her closely.
