Organ washing could lead to more successful transplantsDousing donated organs in salt water and rinsing them with a special detergent may help wash away genetic material that leads to rejection in transplant patients, according to new research. Using many thousands of a patient's stem cells in a graft, donated organs can be modified to better suit organ recipients. This method means patients would no longer be required to take anti-rejection drugs and that organs could lie in wait for several weeks after removal for potential future transplant. Wow

athan that was a great article! If

this works on humans, I can only imagine the changes in store for the whole

transplant world. “Catching”

a disease from the transplanted organ might be a thing of the past. Not taking immunosuppressants would not only

improve the quality of life, but possibly stop the damage done to kidneys. It might even make questionable organs

transplant ready. Amazing.

Thanks for sharing
