FYI

Potted plants and cut flowers provide a breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria, and we all know how many nasty pathogens can be found in hospitals. Recently my sister was recovering from surgery and her friends started sending pictures of flowers and flower arrangements for her to stick on the wall. It was unique and started a lot of conversation, she had beautiful flowers and lots of things to look at.

When I was recently in hospital the elderly lady in the next bed who

suffered from a lung disease had flowers by her bed. Overnight she was

very distressed in that even though she had oxgyen she had severe

problems in breathing. An Doctor arrived on the scene, took one look

around, asked if her breathing problems had started when the flowers

arrived, " Yes " she said, the flowers were taken away and her breathing

was almost back to normal within a couple of hours.
