Guest guest
From http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/barbaranordgren Hello; It is midnight - the original time we were to be finished - and the updated time we were to begin. The doctors just spoke to us and rejected the liver from Wichita... " too much fat " & microscopic irregularities. It didn't pass thier exceptionally high standards. The reject 3 of every 4 livers offered. The rejected livers are used in other transplant centers where they do not have the liberty of having such high standards because of the extreme need. Just 5 minutes after making the decision to reject the Wichita liver, a new liver from a " very young person " was offered locally. This person is donating all their organs & there is a time lapse while they line up recipients for the other organs. Pending acceptance of this new liver, Barby is scheduled for transplant at noon on Wednesday, November 28. We'll keep you posted..
