Announcement from the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council

For more information please contact Jeff Britt

Celebrate and advocate for the direct support workforce! It goes without saying that direct support professionals (DSPs) are the foundation of the community-based supports system. It also goes without saying that low Medicaid reimbursement rates make it very difficult for private providers to maintain a full, high quality direct support staff. This September, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) and American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) are hosting DSP to DC! This event is critical to raising the visibility of the workforce crisis and workforce legislation on Capitol Hill. DSPs cannot afford to miss out, and providers cannot afford to leave their DSPs at home. Please join us September 13-14, 2010 at the Washington Court Hotel. Along with professional seminars, we will recognize and awards the winners of the 2010 DSP of the Year Contest - AND - visit Capitol Hill to meet with Members of Congress on workforce issues!
