Guest guest
Note- the surgeons indicate that it is exceptionally rare to have so many O+ (blood type) livers available in the same 24hour time frame. They fully expected to send her home after the first liver failed to meet their specs. They hadn't had any other O+ livers for several months. In the past 24+ hrs they've had 3 available - & 2 have met their specs. Remember, they reject 75% of all livers offered at KU Med Ctr. So, the rejection of the first liver to become available was fairly normal. The acceptance of the next two was a statistical rarity - especially when one considers that this all took place in approximately 24hrs.
