Guest guest
I have substantial hair loss too. No bald spots, but hair is always coming out. I have long hair and it drives my shaved-head DH crazy! I've been checked for thyroid, A and B12 several times - I'm having another test this week. My hair got softer with the GF diet, but alas, still jumps overboard on a daily basis. ) Trudy From: mary.barnes (AT) comcast (DOT) net To: SillyYaks ; SillyYaks Cc: Ross Cornwill Sent: Saturday, September 09, 2006 8:13 AM Subject: Re: question Both the hair loss and acne can be related to vitamin deficiencies, in particular the B vitamins (including biotin) which many folks with CD cannot properly absorb (sublingual forms are usually better). Also, I don't think the alternate grains used in the GF diet are as high in B vitamins as wheat, so when going GF most folks need to add B vitamin supplements. There are alternate food forms, but a lot of those are things that many of us don't eat regularly (liver, mackerel, herring) or can't eat (dairy, eggs). Also, Essential Fatty Acids such as Fish oil or flax oil and zinc are some things that help the skin and hair. But, taking too much of some vitamins like vitamin A can actually cause hair loss. Also, hair loss can be associated with hypothyroidism, which does correlate with celiac disease. B

Unfortunately most docs don't run both of them together.Shez
Guest guest
Ora thank you, where did you purchase NAG and HTO? And does he say why oxalates effect some women and not others, or why they start effecting women? CarolOne site has it all. Your email accounts, your social networks, and the things you love. Guest guest
They are three different products. I use NAG which I believe really helps my intestinal tract because I used to have IBS and that has totally cleared up when I use it faithfully. Ox-absorb is another one of them. You can look it up on the internet. I found the following informati8on in my archives but believe Dr. Solomons is no longer practicing. HTO is hexadecyl tetradecenoyl octadecanoate. I looked them up and could not find them but perhaps they are spelled differently. " HTO is a product being studied in Dr. Solomon's Pain Project. Dr. Solomons believes that HTO " retards the breakdown of connective tissue and stabilizes the mast cells which can otherwise cause histamine release which results in pain. " It is kind of hard to explain in a nutshell, but here goes: Dr. Solomons believes VV is caused by an overproduction of oxalate in a woman's body. The oxalates irritate, and over time degrade vaginal tissue. Many women (myself included) have had a lot of success in controlling our VV by regulating our oxalate production through diet. If you do not completely recover using these methods, Dr. Solomons adds two more substances to your protocol in an attempt to build up the degraded connective (vaginal) tissue. The first substance is called NAG (N-acetyl glucosamine), which is used to accelerate the formation or regeneration of connective tissue. The second substance, HTO, is used to slow the breakdown or degradation of the same tissue. " Ora >Doe anyone know what NAG, Ox-Absorb, HTO is??? t > >thank you
Guest guest
You can buy NAG at drugstores. But I get it off the internet. sEE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N-Acetylglucosamine I have never used HTO. I think it is something formulated by Dr. Solomon. Probably the reason oxalates affect some women and not others has to do with the enzyme oxalobactor formigenes which is in our digestive tracts. It might be deficient or something like that. Guest guest
If your estradiol levels are lower than 50 picograms per milliliter, you may still be having a period, but also may be experiencing symptoms of low estrogen -- including hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and sleep difficulties. Non-menopausal: Follicular Phase 24-138 Luteal Phase 19-164 Periovulatory 107-402 Im confused it says levels lower than 50pg/ml, mine are 59- but this chart indicates these levels and 59 appears to be well within a reasonable level??One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail.
